View Poll Results: Would you swap our 2015 1st for a 2014 2nd?
Yes. I would trade with any team. | 4 | 4.94%
Perhaps, depending on where the pick lies in the 2nd. I'm not terribly interested in taking Seattle's pick | 16 | 19.75%
Probably not. I'd need to see who was available when we made the deal, but I'm leaning towards no | 28 | 34.57%
No. Too risky. You have no clue where we'll pick or what kind of talent will be there | 33 | 40.74%

This draft is another odd one that changes the values around from other drafts. I do wish there was a better way to gauge the value of the picks. I have a feeling that our 23rd is more likely the value of the 44th and 75th of the Rams than the 37th and 44th.

The Vikings already had 2 1st round picks last year when they traded from their 2nd (#52) to #29 (Patriots). They gave up:
2nd - #52 3rd - #83 4th - #102 7th - #229 |

Falcons traded from 30 to 22 by giving up a 3rd and a 6th.

First round talent in this class doesn't dry up until around picks 42-50. That's like getting 2 firsts for pick 23. As for the op, I'd trade next years first for a top 45 pick so fast, it would make your head spin. |

That was in a weak class, though.
That pick was cool because I drafted Trufant for them in the cp mock and people said it was a reach. |

He was worth both of those picks, if last year wasn't enough to sway some people to his current and potential future worth, then all I'm gonna do is stick thumbs in my ears, wiggle my fingers and yell NEANER NEANER YOU CANT CHANGE IT over and over. He came onto a literal CRIME SCENE and was instrumental in a 9 game swing... if that aint enough, then ****ing NEANER, deal with it. |

Never trade future first round picks in any sport.

Why not?
I see it as us having a window of opportunity to try to win something with the group of talent we have that are in their prime and if we can get a top 45 pick this year (in an epic draft class) we can use that to add another weapon that would normally go a lot higher. Let me ask it another way. Would you trade Eric Fisher for a top 20 pick in this draft? |

In a perfect BossChief world, we would either get a QB or Ebron at 23...or trade down adding an additional second rounder and move picks from next years draft for picks this year.

I suppose there's always the danger that we would Denver it up.
Remember when they traded away their 1st rounder in the next draft for Alphonso Smith, then cut him the very next ****ing season |

As far as your other point is concerned, multiple dynasties were built on other teams' first round picks. See: The Stepien Rule. There were some really good players in last year's draft. The Chiefs scouting department is tasked with finding the best player for each pick. They failed that task miserably last year. Ansah, Mingo, Lotulelei, Sheldon, Kenny Vaccaro, and Eric Reid all had excellent years and play positions of extreme need for the Chiefs. I don't think I'd trade many of them for the 20th pick. The Chiefs are an incompetent organization. It sucks, but it's reality.
