Tigers get Price. Royals get Jack Shit.

Tigers tighten hold on division with a blockbuster trade.

http://sports.yahoo.com/news/tigers-...204522907.html

In other baseball news..

Royals get Jack Shit-hope for the best. Decide 2nd or 3rd for the next ten years is not too bad-after all they are still making a profit.

So who is jumping off the Royals bandwagon now?

You are right-the Royals are much better off with Jack Shit. Trades are risky.

So if the Tigers don't do shit in the playoffs and aren't able to sign Price long term, you still think this is a good trade for them? Trades are risky and I never said that today this is a bad trade, but depending on how this works out it could be horrible. Everyone is flipping shit because of the "last 3 Cy Young winners angle", but Verlander hasn't been more than slightly above average this season.

Oh but wait...

18 Kansas City Royals $92,424,775
19 Oakland Athletics $91,387,944

So less payroll, more wins, much better players and set up with a talented team for several years to come. What could it be-that makes the Royals so much different??

When is the last time we could speculate what the Royals might do in the playoffs. Oh yeah 19 ****ing 85 .... think about that 1985!!!

I am sure the Tigers plan on keeping Price around-the dude is a stud. Oh and a slightly average Verlander is still better than every pitcher we have- except maybe Big Game Shields- that is probably a tie.

Go Royals!! In Ned we Trust!!

Can't argue any of these points, but the Tigers are at least trying to improve their team going forward. Sure, it COULD go south on them, or, it COULD get them a title in October.

Won't know unless you try.

Cespedes was out there and Dumb**** Dayton stuck with Aoki.

So this asshole passed on Nelson Cruz and now Cespedes because he wants to keep Shields for another 2 months

This guy has to ****ing go. He has no idea how to build an AL team, whatsoever

For Cespedes I would have traded:

Shields
Holland
Butler

straight up

To be fair, in the past the Royals payroll has been a dominating factor.

The last 3 years it has gone up enough to no longer be an excuse about playing playoff level baseball.

JFC you are an idiot. Verlander's ERA has risen every year since 2011. He currently has an ERA if 4.79 with a record of 9-9. I wouldn't trade Duffy, Santana, Shields, or Vargas for him straight up right now.

I think it is time for Dayton and Yost to take a hike also, but not because they didn't make some mythical trade you seem to think they missed out on today.
