Framegate: NFL Says It Didn't Keep Data on Ball Deflation
Somehow, I have this very strange notion that if the NFL's data actually supported their position, they would be producing it. Instead, the NFL completely reversed course on what they said they were doing and now says they didn't keep any of the data.

Of course they are -- it would prove their case was bullshit all along.

Actually, I'm not sure it's really an intentional thing from the get go. Here's the SUPER-abbreviated version of what I think happened.

1. Colts say "hey, Pats are deflating balls"

2. NFL guys test balls. Have NEVER heard of ideal gas law. Are instantly convinced Pats are cheating.

3. Word gets leaked to media. Becomes a national firestorm.

4. NFL owners and others (who also never heard of the ideal gas law) pressure Goodell. NOT this shit again?! ****ing Pat cheaters!!!!

5. Wells report backs into the conclusion the NFL is under pressure to find, lest they be seen as a bunch of ****ing bozos.

6. Everything from there is either cover their ass, or try to make sure that they retain all power under the CBA. The lawsuit involving Brady has NOTHING to do with Brady, and everything to do with making sure they keep all the power under the CBA.

Anything that makes the NFL look more stupid than it already does gets buried, or ignored. They can't reverse course no matter what they think now becuase they will (1) look like fools, (2) make alot of owners angry at Goodell, and (3) piss off the fan bases of 31 other teams who hate the Patriots.


The ship sailed on right/wrong and/or justice a LONG time ago. At about the same time the NFL lost all control over the entire situation, actually.
