Who here uses Ancestry or a similar service? Have you done the DNA test to see your genetic makeup?

I have recently started the family tree and it is really interesting and the search for information, though sometimes difficult, is fun.

How far back in time have you gotten? Anything especially surprising or interesting that you have found?

Mine was dead on. I was able to confirm a birth parent with a set of 6 matching 4-6th cousins. Each match was from a different branch so while one or two might have been coincidence or accuracy similar to a psychic because I was looking for it to match, 6 matches, each from a different line is solid confirmation. I'm not done either. I still have 400+ not yet investigated matches in the 4th-6th cousin range, and some of the matches I investigated and couldn't confirm, may actually match on lines that I have less information than others.

Whats frustrating is on both sides of my family I hit europe and then both tracks died.
