Report: Tom Brady destroyed his phone. Appeal has been denied.
Nope.....he did nothing wrong.
http://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/...eld/ar-AAdBouH The NFL is going to reject Tom Brady’s appeal and uphold the four-game suspension he is facing for his alleged role in Deflategate, according to one report. Stephen A. Smith said on ESPN’s “First Take” Tuesday morning that a source told him Roger Goodell will not reduce or overturn Brady’s suspension. Perhaps more shocking, Smith cited a separate source who told him Brady actually destroyed his own personal cell phone rather than just refusing to turn it over. We have known all along that the bigger issue here is Brady’s lack of cooperation during the Ted Wells investigation. The NFL was furious that Brady wouldn’t give up “relevant” text messages and emails that might help clarify his level of involvement — or lack thereof — in Patriots equipment managers allegedly letting air out of game balls. Smith clarified that he was told by one source that the NFL is going stand by its four-game suspension within the next 24-48 hours, whereas the information about Brady destroying his cell phone was just “something I heard.” It was almost as if he was downplaying the information knowing how much of a bombshell the rumor was. Reports in recent weeks have been all over the place regarding Brady’s appeal. There has been some indication that the two sides are working toward a settlement, though reports like this one make that seem unlikely. If the NFL upholds the suspension, no one would be stunned. If someone can prove that Brady destroyed his cell phone, that would be tough for the New England Patriots quarterback to explain. |

This is all on the Patriots and Brady. If they would have just come out and said: "Tom likes the ball slightly below the regulation PSI and one of our employees used a needle to deflate the balls slightly in a bathroom before taking them to the field. We are sorry for this slight deflation and we will work with the NFL to put regulations in place to prevent this from ever happening again." Instead, we have a circus of lies, deceit, a destroyed cell phones. |

After actually reading the texts that they do have, how can you believe there is NO evidence against Brady?

Sorry, but that would be evidence of innocence, not evidence of any kind of guilt. |

While I can see where the NFL could have gone a little lighter, if there's a fix to this, it' snot to monitor what teams do to their balls, it's to provide the balls and all of them be the exact same. For every play.

Hey, I only troll the "cops suck" threads. I actually think there is ample circumstantial evidence against Brady to warrant his suspension, but I understand Patriot's fans defense of him. If Derrick Thomas would have been accused of the same with the same evidence, I would probably have defended him blindly.

There's been a lot of bad info out there floated by the NFL their their talking heads. Today, Chris Mortensen cancelled a radio interview because he didn't want to get into the fact that he reported that 12 balls had been found to be 2 pounds under-inflated. In reality, it was two balls that were .4 PSI under-inflated. There have been plenty of independent studies that have stated that the Wells Report data was flawed and that the report was incomplete. Plus, the NFL is waging on war on it's "Golden Boy", which is insane from a PR standpoint. It's just dumb, altogether, and could have been completely avoided but Goodell just continues to make mistake after mistake. |

Go count the number of times 'deflate' is used, in any form, in those texts. Then, look at the time line of the usage. The one in May is obviously before the Brady gripe about overinflated balls in October. If you buy the NFL's story, that October game should have been a game where the balls were deflated, since it was a home game, and McNally would have been able to deflate them. Then, check for the one about deflating and the jacket. That one took place during an away game, after the game had started, and McNally wouldn't have been able to deflate the balls pregame. Now, I'm not going to re-hash everything, because it's a waste of time, but the inflate stuff has always been a trumped up non-issue, with regards to Brady, just like the phone. I don't know what, if anything, wrong was done by anyone in the Patriots organization, and neither do you. I do know, though, that nothing was proven to have been done, and the team, which was fully exonerated by the Wells report, was still given a ridiculous penalty, nonetheless. |

The NFL finally mans-up against one of the cheatingest teams in recent times, and people are mad... What!?!?!?!? Give them credit for not doing their usual "cave to the bad fuys", how about that?
And here's food for thought (to chew on), what if this IS the league going light on them - because there are other things worse than this that other owners are ready to go public with? Who knows, if you think this is odd, perhaps there's more to the story than meets the eye and this is the NFL saving face.
