The witness says the man then pulled out a gun and shot McKnight -- and while standing over him screamed, "I told you not to f**k with me" ... then fired another shot into his body.

McKnight was a high school phenom -- considered the best running back in the country. He played college ball at USC. He was drafted by the NY Jets in 2010.

Watched him play up here in SK just a number of weeks ago for the Roughriders. He was in line to become the starting running back next season after a promising CFL debut.

I was surprised he hadn't latched on again somewhere. He was still young and the modern NFL has turned right into his wheelhouse with the emphasis on quick passing into open space.

I figured the knee just made him unable to play but if he was still kicking it in Canada, I'm a little more surprised he could get traction in the NFL.

Man, drugs have to be involved here, right? I mean who just executes somebody when they're trying to apologize unless they're just gone.

Other question is how did he get a clear angle shot on him and standing over him? It sounded like they were both in there cars, so did they get out, or was it a car accident?

Sadly for McKnight, poor ball security and injuries characterized his pro career. Loved watching him with USC though. This story is just sickening.

Not sure if you are mocking me or not. Look up Joe McKnight on the interwebs. He most recently played for the Saskatchewan Roughriders. As a non-playoff team, their season ended a number of weeks ago....
McKnight had a 150 yard rushing game several weeks back.
