At least Buffalo ended up with a legit franchise QB. Teams like Chicago, San Fran, the Jets, Tennessee, & Panthers made a far bigger mistake passing on Mahomes.

It turned out to be a solid deal for both parties, but if Mahomes goes on to be a top-3 all time QB (or even the best ever), that trade probably becomes the most famous/consequential draft day trade of all time, passing even the Herschel Walker trade.*

I'm not sure I'd call that famous trade "a solid deal for both parties". The Bills got some good players, but the outcome is as lopsided as a trade can get.

It is approaching the Babe Ruth trade as the most lopsoded in sports history.
