0 DUI but only got pulled over once about two blocks form home but they let me go home lucky ass me that was the night Mike Tyson bit the ear off of Holyfield and I was plowed can't believe they let me go.

I think like most people, when I was 18-25 or so I drove a number of times when I shouldn't have. I've never driven when I was seriously blitzed, but over the limit yes. Would never think of it today, but I have about 1 drink a month so it's a non-issue.

Driving drunk at 18-25 30 years ago was very different than today. Things are better and I've learned what a waste and danger.

When me and 2 buddies got pulled over by the police in 1980 with a case of 48 Miller Nips (little 6 ounces) iced packed in the back seat with a blanket over it, the police made us open all the remaining bottles and pour it all out.

Another time the police had us put the case of 24 ouncers in their trunk and followed us home to make sure we got there. Then they left

No tickets either time

Today, that would NEVER happen.

May I ask where Budde's was?

I asked the lead officer "Can't you just escort me home? I live less than 1/2 mile from here". He replied "I could. But I'm not going to".

It cost me about $600 dollars, which wasn't bad at the time, but I've not driven after drinking since.

For the past 24 years, I've either lived within walking distance of tons of bars and restaurants or a 6 minute Uber. Even when going to parties, I Uber.

Last I heard, it was about $20k to get a DUI in LA County.

No thanks.

I didn't know of Bubbe's in Lenexa?. Was Buddie's, (Bubba' Buddie's?) there when 18YO's could drink in KS?.... I think it was Scoreboards before closing and going retail.

I should know the place as I grew up at Jacks Bar and Pizza Queen. Beers were free at PQ (perk) plus movie night ruled at Valley View Theater! Drinking beer "n watching movies in OP,KS. Brings back the memories of breaking rules 'cause you could. Getting the beer there was half the fun.

Jack barred me for a week when I asked for a free beer on my 18 th B-day. I had been served there for 1 1/2 years when I asked....Jack was a retired Cop!

Reckless driving is not something I want on my records for 5 years but beats a DUI.

Googling it I found "Wet equals reckless driving with alcohol involved" as a result of agreeing to plea to the lesser charge along with a (Bite you in the ass) clause that if you commit an additional DUI offense in the future your convection transfers to a full blown DUI...

In Mo, they never had such a charge, if you plea bargained out it would would only show as an arrest, not a conviction, unless stipulated by the judge and probationary terms.
