DON'T buy WS tickets at current prices

I have a few friends that deal in the secondary market professionally here in KC. (Not scalpers, technically. These guys have offices and pay taxes.) I've been told by, literally, all of them not to buy until at least Monday. All three that I've called about tickets have told me they have them, but that no one is buying at current prices...even on StubHub. They say that by game day they expect prices to drop dramatically. One even saying he expects SRO to fall to around $250 and then for prices to increase incrementally from there. He basically said people are throwing shit against the wall to see what sticks at this point, and that nothing is sticking.

Again, I went to HS with 2 of these guys, so them not trying to stiff me isn't a surprise...even though it's basically what they do for a secondary income.

If you have the scratch to buy now, go ahead I guess. But if you're on a budget, I wouldn't rule out going to a game just yet.

As for buying 10 minutes before the game, you'll need a portable printer. They won't accept cell phone tickets, you have to print them out, and most of us don't live near the stadium. For most of us, the deadline to buy tickets or not go at all is the morning of the game.
When did this start? (Them not taking tickets purchased on your phone from stubhub) I was able to buy AL wildcard games, on my phone, thru stub hub...what changed?

You an buy them still. But you won't get into the game with an eticket. You'll have to have a printed version.

So, if you're at the stadium and purchasing via phone, you better have a printer.

Someone said earlier that they will not scan your phone for the world series. You could buy them on your phone, but you'll have to figure out how to print them.

I've only been there a couple times but I'm pretty sure you've got an Office Depot and a Fedex Print Center within 3-4 miles of Kauffman.

I was hoping to cash in my casino cash for some WS tickets, but the recent gutting of our accounts screwed that idea over.

If the prices start crashing hard to the point where they might not even get face back, then some of them may relist with the Royals out of desperation.
Al is right for the most part, but I can tell you that in STL in both 2006 and 2001, the Cardinals released a miniscule amount of tickets for each home game at random times for the general public.

Someone I know with the organization said that tickets that are set aside for MLB, sponsors and the visiting team sometimes get returned to the home club because they're not all going to get used.

We're talking about less than 100 tickets usually, and it's hit or miss as to when they are made available.

Needle in a ****ing haystack.

Yeah, I got an email at 4 on Friday from a coworker who had a FB friend that found tickets on kcroyals.com (talk about random...) and at 4:05 I found a single for game 7, and I went back about 4:10 and they were all gone.

The secondary market is still really ****ed up... tickets in the upper deck going for more than some of the dugout box seats, and not that far off from SRO.

Going to keep monitoring, especially Tuesday afternoon, and might even set the game to record and head to the K Tuesday evening to see what I can get close to or just after game time.

I was lucky and got tickets at face value. , games 3 4, and 5 in San Fran cost me 205 each, sec VR315.

Tickets to 6, and 7 cost 125, sec 423. Sold my buddy games 1 and 2 for face value as I am just traveling to san fran then on to KC if it goes to games 6 and 7. I got very lucky that is for sure. Never would have been able to do this is tickets were any above the face value.

Prices swung back up by about $30 bucks or so, but just due to people buying up the cheapies on a Saturday night. Expect to find real deals on Monday evening/Tuesday morning for game 1, and Tuesday night/Wednesday morning for game 2.

Same friend I mentioned in the OP is still sticking to his $250 mark for SRO, but says they may go even lower just before the game.

I think I know what's going in...people have put these prices up & if someone bites they will sell them otherwise they are going to the game.

This is a once in a lifetime experience for some people.

The problem with that theory is that the prices are no longer insane. If they would have been at this level from the beginning, I would have bought in by now. The problem is they got greedy, we realized there are way too many tickets on sale with only a few days left for them to really have this kind of leverage, so we're waiting them out.

Also, most of the people who have these tickets listed already have their own tickets, the season ticket holder can buy many more than just their seats.

Next time the Royals make the playoffs they'll probably be more reasonable and not put themselves in this position.
