I'm talking about a 17 year old kid who was an all-decade IHSA running back...stats comparable to Mike Alstott...who was FREAKISHLY strong and somehow thought he was running 4.45 40s because of our high school coaches and their stopwatch politics...
my baseball team in high school was stacked...we were awesome...we faced a guy named Ryan Bird who was rumored to have a "102 MPH" fastball...the newspaper reported it and everything...he was rumored to get a 60% scholarship to a big 10 school (which is unheard of for baseball players)... we faced him....dude probably didn't even hit 90 on the gun and we torched him...he lasted less than 2 innings...it was hysterical I don't think people realize how rare 4.5 speed is yet 10 people on CP ran 4.5's or 4.6's etc. etc. etc. yeah ****ing right |

You grew up as a rube in a small town. Let's put it this way, Hootie: The football coach that I trained under as a kid beginning at age 13 was not only a ****ing stud that would coach his teams to state championships, but he's still at the top of his game as one of the best (Top 20) football coaches in America. There was no "horseshit" going on. Many of the guys I went to school with went on to play and start immediately at MAJOR universities across the nation. |

Dane ran a 4.4 in high school...which was nothing compared to his 35 other teammates all in the 4.3's
****ing idiots 4.65 is lighting fast and is rare ****ing air when I lived in Lenexa and OP growing up (until I was 12) I went to school with ZERO black people...and I went to big school districts when I moved to Illinois...again...ZERO black people so yeah...you're right...I didn't see a ton of speed...but I know 95% of this board is white so I know there isn't a whole lot of 4.5 speed around here just watch the ****ing combine... yeah there are a few white people who crack 4.5...but not a lot cracking 4.5 as a white guy is RARE AS HELL it is about race white people aren't as fast as black people |

this board is 95% white
I'm pretty sure Dane is white... Dane if you had tons of black teammates than I will agree that perhaps you did see a ton of freak athletes... but where I grew up in Kansas...and where I grew up in Illinois... it was white, white, white (just like this board)...and 4.5 basically didn't exist 1 out of 1000 |

And again, you missed my statement earlier: Guys 27 years ago are NOTHING like the guys coming out of school today. NOTHING. I'd bet that during my three years out of school, maybe ONE, instead of 50, would be offered scholarships today. It's a different world today. But that doesn't mean that guys weren't gifted athletically. |

just watch the NFL combine not many white people ever break a 4.5 so it makes me laugh that a 5'10 210" "hoss" with 4.45 speed couldn't get any D1 offers/looks or anything but whatever you're starting to sound like my roommate who was an awesome high school player...was an all-decade IHSA FB (comparable to Mike Alsott stats) and thought he ran a 4.45 too but he didn't and he got DII and DIII offers, too are you my roommate? he was an all-area catcher, too...best catcher I ever pitched too...he played college baseball as well so maybe you guys are the same person |
