2016 NFL First Round Mock Draft v. 1

1. Tennessee Titans (3-13) - LAREMY TUNSIL, OT - Ole Miss (6'5" 305)
The Titans are going nowhere fast if they can't keep their franchise signal caller standing upright for 16 games.

2. Cleveland Browns (3-13) - JARED GOFF, QB - California (6'4" 210)
The Browns future starts and ends with the QB position. They have to pick whichever one they feel is best.

3. San Diego Chargers (4-12) - RONNIE STANLEY, OT - Notre Dame (6'6" 315)
The Chargers can't run the football and they can't keep Rivers off the ground, they need help on the offensive line.

4. Dallas Cowboys (4-12) - JOEY BOSA, DE - Ohio State (6'5" 275)
The Cowboys need to start bolstering the trenches on the defensive side of the ball and ridding themselves of Greg Hardy along the way is all the better.

5. Jacksonville Jaguars (5-11) - JALEN RAMSEY, CB - Florida State (6'1" 202)
The Jags' pass defense simply has to get better. Fowler coming back should help the pass rush, but they have to guard receivers too.

6. Baltimore Ravens (5-11) - LAQUON TREADWELL, WR - Ole Miss (6'2" 210)
The Ravens can't go into next season relying on Brett Perriman and nobody else, they need a legit number one receiver that isn't pushing 40.

7. San Francisco 49ers (5-11) - PAXTON LYNCH, QB - Memphis (6'6" 230)
Let's be honest, Chip Kelly hasn't shown he wants a QB that can't throw the ball accurately thusfar in the NFL; he's not sticking with Kap.

8. Miami Dolphins (6-10) - VERNON HARGREAVES III, CB - Florida (5'11" 199)
The Dolphins have to get better at stopping teams from throwing the ball, and Grimes is 33 to boot.

9. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (6-10) - SHAQ LAWSON, DE - Clemson (6'3" 270)
The Bucs are heading in the right direction, but they really need a disruptive pass rusher on their front line.

10. New York Giants (6-10) - EZEKIEL ELLIOTT, RB - Ohio State (6'0" 225)
The Giants haven't had a 1,000 yard rusher since 2012 to help take pressure off of Manning and, at the same time, help give their defense rest.

11. Chicago Bears (6-10) - DEFOREST BUCKNER, DE - Oregon (6'7" 290)
The Bears need a bunch of help in their front 7, and defensive end is a great place to start.

12. New Orleans Saints (7-9) - EMMANUEL OGBAH, DE - Oklahoma State (6'3" 275)
The Saints just have to play better defense, and with league worsts in completion rate (68.4%) and yards per attempt (8.7), they have to be more disruptive of opposing passing attacks.

13. Philadelphia Eagles (7-9) - CARSON WENTZ, QB - North Dakota State (6'5" 231)
Chip Kelly did the finest job of dismanteling a football team as could be done. The QB position has to be addressed if Doug Pederson has any hope of turning things around.

14. Oakland Raiders (7-9) - TAYLOR DECKER, OT - Ohio State (6'7" 315)
The Raiders need to give Carr better protection from the blind side if they want to make strides in 2016.

15. Los Angeles Rams (7-9) - MYLES JACK, OLB - UCLA (6'1" 245)
The Rams really need a QB, but I . Jo-Lonn Dunbar is a free agent and they have future needs at LB as well.

16. Detroit Lions (7-9) - A'SHAWN ROBINSON, DT - Alabama (6'3" 312)
Despite the Lions need to find a left tackle, they also have huge holes on the defensive line. They'll need a tackle to replace Ngata.

17. Atlanta Falcons (8-8) - DARRON LEE, OLB - Ohio State (6'1' 235)
The Falcons really need a good OLB that can cover and play all over the field for three downs, and Schofield and Reed aren't that guy.

18. Indianapolis Colts (8-8) - LEONARD FLOYD, OLB - Georgia (6'4" 232)
The Colts lack any consistent pass rush and simply have to get better there.

19. Buffalo Bills (8-8) - REGGIE RAGLAND, ILB - Alabama (6'2" 252)
The Bills need a leader, and an upgrade, in the middle of their defense. Aside from Hughes and Dareus, the Bills have more questions than answers in the front 7.

20. New York Jets (10-6) - CONNOR COOK, QB - Michigan State (6'4" 220)
The Jets need a long-term solution at QB and Cook has too much talent to slip out of the first round in a QB-needy league.

21. Washington Redskins (9-7) - ROBERT NKEMDICHE, DT - Ole Miss (6'3" 296)
Jason Hatcher might retire and Knighton is a free agent, the 'Skins will need help in the trenches.

22. Houston Texans (9-7) - ANDREW BILLINGS, DT - Baylor (6'1" 310)
The Texans will need a long-term replacement for Vince Wilfork in the middle to keep their defense clicking.

23. Minnesota Vikings (11-5) - COREY COLEMAN, WR - Baylor (5'10" 190)
The Vikings need an explosive playmaker opposite Stefan Diggs, and Mike Wallace and his huge contract will likely need to go.

24. Cincinnati Bengals (12-4) - JOSH DOCTSON, WR - Texas Christian (6'2" 195)
With four receivers set to hit free agency, the Bengals will need to add at least one and true starter opposite Green would be best.

25. Pittsburgh Steelers (10-6) - ELI APPLE, CB - Ohio State (6'1" 200)
The Steelers always need corners, and this year they really need to draft one early.

26. Seattle Seahawks (10-6) - JACK CONKLIN, OT - Michigan State (6'6" 318)
The Seahawks have a huge decision looming with Okung, but they still need to at least draft a right tackle.

27. Green Bay Packers (10-6) - JAYLON SMITH, ILB - Notre Dame (6'3" 240)
The Packers don't have any needs so critical that they can't afford to wait on Smith's return, which would give them a dynamic player for the middle of their defense.

28. Kansas City Chiefs (11-5) - WILL FULLER, WR - Notre Dame (6'0" 185)
The Chiefs lack a playmaker opposite Jeremy Maclin, and they learned the hard way versus New England that they can't continue to ignore the issue.

29. Denver Broncos (12-4) - JASON SPRIGGS, OT - Indiana (6'6" 305)
Ryan Clady spends more time in the tub than he does on the field. The Broncos need to find their blindside protector of the future.

30. Arizona Cardinals (13-3) - JONATHAN BULLARD, DE - Florida (6'3" 283)
Bullard is exactly the type of two-gap, strong defensive end with enough pass rush that the Cards like to employee and can be the long-term replacement to Frostee Rucker.

31. Carolina Panthers (15-1) - KEVIN DODD, DE - Clemson (6'4" 275)
The Panthers need a long-term solution at right defensive end to replace Jared Allen.

I think this is a pretty realistic draft (obviously-- we agree on the first 6 picks lol), thanks. The one spot I think would be pretty tough is Green Bay passing on Spriggs to take over Bakhtiari's job.

Man, what a steal Washington would be getting in Nkemdiche. I mean, I know he was high and jumped out of a window, but man.

This draft would cost me a television.

Starting at pick 20 and on I would be yelling at my TV every selection: "Why the hell haven't you traded up for Jaylon Smith, Dorsey! You pussy!"

Then at around 25 I'd start to change my tune "Dorsey you magnificant bastard! He's going to fall to us at 28....."

And when he went off the board at 27, I would throw a remote through the television. And start kicking dogs. It would be awful and I'd probably end up divorced.

What a nice year to be the Browns.

Most seasons they'd have to worry about the Titans peddling that pick among teams from 2-5 to try to create a bidding war for clubs looking to move up and select their favorite QB. This season, OTOH, nobody else in the top 6 is likely looking at QB and the Titans couldn't really justify trading down further than 3 or 4 (need Tunsil or Stanley, IMO).

In an ideal world, the #3 team in the draft would've desperately wanted a QB as well and the Titans could work #2 and #3 against each other to trade into the 1 spot and get their top guy. But this year, that's not gonna happen. The Browns can easily call TN's bluff then sit there and wait for their QBOTF.

I wouldn't blame either of you, the kid is a legit talent. The Chiefs have the ability to wait on his return as well and he'd sure be an impact player going forward.

I didn't even realize that we had the same picks. I think the top of the draft is going to be pretty mundane. All the top teams kind of just have their needs and players sitting there to fill them. I doubt there will be many surprises early on.

Jaylon Smith had knee surgery. He didn't die.

There would have to be some SERIOUS issues in the recovery process tat are uncovered at the combine for him to fall past 12-15, much less make it to 27-28.
