Grade the Marcus Peters situation

Might as well document our overall reaction.

The only good thing about this is that there are no Rams fans, so no one will come to Chiefsplanet and gloat.

I'd rather have kept Peters and picked up his 5th year option. Make his ****ing ass earn his new contract on a new team or lose money for himself. Instead of KC getting fleeced and putting us in a horrible position defensively.

Tough situation- don't blame Veach at all since I think its safe to assume that this situation deteriorated much worse than we knew.

Unfortunate that Reid couldn't reign Peters in more, unfortunate Peters couldn't be more mature in this situation. I don't blame Dorsey either, I think they knew what type of individual you were getting when you drafted Marcus Peters.

The juice was worth the squeeze until this season I suppose.

Talk to me when the season is over and we can discuss the results. Don't really care about hypothetical of what may or may not come. It happened lets see what the actual result will be before I fly off the handle.

I wish we had gotten more, but hard to grade as an “F”. Worst case it appears we at least got a team cancer and distraction out of the locker room. And as Kaep has demonstrated, market value of an anthem sitter/kneeler is dramatically lower than an equivalent player who stands.

That's gonna look even worse man, behind their pass rush he's probably gonna be a first team all pro.

Wouldn't the best situation have been to keep Marcus another year at his rookie cheap ass rate and tell him "We can't get shit for you with your baggage. Keep it together for the season and then try to cash in as a FA".

They apparently didn’t want him around the locker room.

Yeah, I don't get it. If there was seriously that little interest, then suck it up and make it work through the rest of his contract. Forcing this trade benefits nobody but Peters. The Chiefs just showed every player in the league that if they want out of a Chiefs contract, all they have to do is act like an asshole.

That's bullshit. Veach absolutely doesn't have to trade him now. Somebody is going to have a CB go down and will salivate at the thought of an all-pro, cheap replacement.

Unless of course people were cancelling tickets and citing him as the reason, can't have that.
