Keep in mind that you're a novice lifter for a longer period of time than you think you are. Novice lifting can last anywhere from a few months to a year or two, depending on how hard you hit the weights and where you started.

Once you've reached the point where you don't make regular progress on the SS program, you are ready to move on to the intermediate stage, which can last you for a good number of years. Find it HERE:

If you're a very advanced lifter (many, many years of CONSISTENT weight training), then there are lot of programs out there, and which one you pick is simply a matter of preference. If you're really that advanced, you should know what works for you and what doesn't by this point.

Nike/Adidas for more narrow feet.

New Balance for wider.

I don't care for the look of any Under Armour shoes.

Reebok seems to be hit or miss. I have one pair of them that I like.

Nice on the side cash job. I've been hitting an hourly gig for some extra cash as well.

I'd start with 2000 and go from there. I bet you don't gain or lose anything. I do about 1600-1700 per day for the last few months as well. My job isn't physical though.

Most runners agree that Asics are great shoes, especially the higher priced ones. I don't do any running, so I'd never consider them, but they are definitely worth the money from what I know.

I've had some brooks that I liked as well, but I wear asics everyday at work. I try to do a lot of standing dentistry to save my back so I'm on my feet a lot. asics have helped.

Brooks have the best support. They're high dollar but get the prior year models and they are in line with everything else. I get the adrenaline GTS model. They have the best support and cushioning for being on your feet all day.

These are what I wear on the farm as long as I don't need the Muck boots. Virtually everyone wears boots to farm. It's just not worth it. Except when Mucks are needed.
