This conversation has come up amongst buddies of mine.

The way I see it, Mariota doesn’t stay healthy and he’s nothing special even when he does. They need a damn good defense to even have a chance at the playoffs with him having a low cap number, so how difficult will it be when the cap number is high?

The big thing that separates big money QBs to me is anticipation. Can they see the open man before it’s there? Can they make said throw consistently? Because windows are too small in this league to count on a passing game where the QB has to ‘see the open man’ before throwing it consistently. Mariota and Dak are both bad with that.

Unless MM will sign for a prove it price, say $20M per year, I’d be moving on.

I think it's accurate. The playoff prices are so high that playoff games aren't usually sold out any more.
