Like, take out Hali and put in Miller. His numbers wouldn't be significantly better than Hali's by any stretch of the imagination. They might be slightly better since he's the superior athlete, and the Chiefs would benefit because he's more of a solid tackler. But that's about it.

Best we can tell, that was a fluke season. Prior to 2010, it was 5, 7 and 4 and since then it is 5, 3 and 5. Blame it on the QB all you like, but there are really good WRs putting up good #s consistently with bad QBs.

Bowe caught 34% of his career TDs in that 2010 season... he's about to complete his 7th season. He's just not that guy.

Von would start for the Chiefs, definitely. But he is about it from Denver's D that would start in KC.

I'm not sure I understand.

I'm sure the Chiefs, or any team with Hali, Houston, and Miller, would figure out how to get them on the field at the same time. One would not necessarily start over the other, they wouldn't have to.

Name the QB, let them start 1 game with Denver's offense against the KC defense and 1 game with KC's offense against the KC Defense... and the QB leading the Denver offense wins - or has much better results, however you want to split that hair.

KC's receiver problem is this - you don't have a legit #1. Bowe is a borderline #1 guy, but a great #2. KC needs a #1 - that's the issue. Give Smith a better lead WR and a strong TE candidate and you'd likely have a very nice and very consistent passing attack.

DT is a solid #1 WR and Decker is a solid #2 WR...

Give Smith the likes of DT, Decker (or Bowe) and Thomas at TE and you'd see nice consistent production, much improved over what he is doing now.

You can hate on Denver for landing Manning all you like... but KC's issues are not with the QB and any shortcomings he might have, it's with the lack of playmakers at the receiving position.

I'd say that's more a direct link to playing with guys like Tyler Palko, Brodie Croyle, Brady Quinn, etc. He's shown that he's able to make plays when given the chance and isn't always able to do that when saddled with a shit-carousel of borderline Arena league level QBs on consistently putrid offenses.

I mean, check out Jamaal Charles this season. By all means call this a "fluke" season as far as TDs are concerned, but don't you think it's more likely that he's just showing what he's truly been capable of all these years now that he has a bit of talent at the QB position and a game plan that's more conducive to scoring points than going 3 and out?
