emergency phone issue (GS4)
well ... for no reason whatsoever my power button stopped working today ... so, like an idiot, I took the battery out to try and reset it and now I can't turn it on ... my computer won't even recognize that I'm plugging my phone in

does this mean the battery is dead? How can I turn my phone back on? Any ideas? No, Google has not been my friend on this.

your power button is broken

i had that happen to my galaxy s4 as well

sometimes the button will get stuck in the depressed position

its a very common problem. im surprised your search didnt turn up anything

well why is it when I plug my GS4 into my computer or a charger it won't even charge it? The battery icon won't even appear?

I haven't dropped my phone and no water damage. Nothing.

It may still be under warranty. Call your carrier. This should be a warranty issue.

Fish ... USB isn't recognized. I can't do that. When I take my battery out and pop it back in, the 'Samsung Galaxy S4' pops back up. But then when I plug my phone into a USB on my computer the usual green battery charging thingy never pops up. My power button won't turn my phone on and my phone won't charge.

how the **** does my phone just ****ing die like that in the middle of the day in my pocket, in an air-conditioned office, when it has NO damage. Seriously. If you look at the phone, it's in PERFECT ****ing condition. I have never even dropped the thing. Hell, I hardly even use a phone.

You need to do a soft reset button unfortunately your power but needs to be operational to do that. So in other words you're ****ed. Talk to your carrier if you're still under warranty it should be replaced at no cost unless you damaged it in some way.
