Don't make fun of me, but I ate at McDonald's today. I needed a quick lunch and it was McDonald's or Jimmy John's, and I'm fundamentally opposed to paying restaurants to make me a sandwich.
Their 2 for $5 options did include the quarter pounder with cheese.

yes, that's a franchisee' choice. Also - I wasn't going to say anything - out of embarrassment - but I double downed on the Big-Mac deal today. It wasn't too gnarly - it wasn't great by no means - Times are a little rough right now.

Their fries are good when fresh out of the fryer and well salted (which is rare, I know).
Their Coke-a-Cola is the best god damn soft drink on planet earth. I still go there for breakfast sometimes if I'm in a hurry. That's about it though. I like their McGriddle sammiches. Their frozen Mocca flavored frappe is good but expensive considering it's coming from McD's almost $4 IIRC, costs more than the entire breakfast "combo" meal. And the McD's over by my place now sells chocolate and twist flavored soft served ice cream cones, which is nice, I love twist cones...get one at every buffet i eat at. Only like a $1 or $1.25, could pay w/ change in your car. And it's good to get a couple of their apple pies, crush it up a little bit into a mush and heat it up in the microwave, then eat it w/ ice cream and it's like a apple crisp. REALLY ****in' tasty I tell ya. Everything else they sell is crap, esp the main lunch/dinner menu's. Their burgers for the most part are crap, not even real meat, it's some sort of nuclear south american soy patty that doesn't spoil. Their nuggets are not made of real chicken, fish and chicken sammiches are crap too. Even their McRib, which for some reason is so often adored by many, is vastly overrated, but it's about the only thing there that's tolerable eating off of their lunch/dinner menu.

(Shrug.) I've been out of the sandwich game at home for a while. I've been trying to minimize my intake of the delicious and aromatic substance that is bread.

I used to have a Jimmy Johns literally in my backyard when I lived in Columbia...literally about 80ft away from my back porch (the back of my townhouse faced their parking lot).
Used to be open til 3am. It was great to stop by there shitfaced after coming home from the bars at 2am and walking out my back porch door to get a Gargantuan. But I ate it so much I got tired of it and won't really eat there anymore unless I have to.
