I know, Nintendo sells more systems than M$ and Sony combined. However, the Wii is a gimmick for old people and kids. When we talk of actual consoles and their respective online services, we're comparing the 360 to the PS3. The 360 has sold more consoles than the PS3.

I guess I didn't see where he specified. I happen to agree with him, online play should be free, extra services should be premium. But, it is what it is.

I disagree with you saying the Wii is a gimmick for old people and kids. There are some really solid titles for Wii, including Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2, Metroid: Other M, "The New" Super Mario Brothers, WarioWare, and plenty more upcoming. Donkey Kong Country Returns and The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword come to mind.

He specified when he said "the more popular boxes", not that it matters. But you're kidding yourself if you think the titles you listed drove the Wii sales. The fact that it's a gimmick that casual people and young kids can get into and it being the cheapest option of the 3 at launch is the reason behind the staggering numbers.
