It's a foregone conclusion that pitcher's batting in the NL will come to an end shortly and bring on the DH... probably by 2017/2018 according to those in the know. The MLBPA is the driving force.

Today's SF and Washington game is a perfect example. Third inning, runners on for SF and they have hitters bunting TWICE IN A ROW! And they suck at bunting! It's the third ****ing inning! JFC! Is Ned Yost the guru of National League managerial thinking? Ridiculous!

how about getting some pitchers who can bat

maybe use a little strategy

i dunno bat the pitcher 9th and deal with it and whoever has the best players & strategy wins?

Not to mention that glut of outfielders the Dodgers have would be way more useful with the DH.

I can't for the life of me figure out why anybody would defend NOT using a DH. Without using the idiotic tradition argument, give me reasons why using a DH is a bad thing.

Pitchers after a certain level don't work on batting nor should they. There's a reason only a couple pitchers can legitimately hit and aren't an automatic out.

it just seems ugly to me to have a team where one guy doesnt take the field

and another guy never bats

just my opinion

I like the idea that the pitcher is a potential weak spot that must be accounted for by pinch hitting at times / strategy

I like strategy games though...its just my opinion...I know theres a lot of people who like the DH rule...but if you can't 'figure out' why someone might not like the DH rule maybe you should think about it a little deeper...

I understand both sides...I just prefer the NL rules

Is it any wonder there are three 20-game winners in the NL this year? 12% of the hitters in any given lineup can't hit to save their lives.

It will soon be dead. The players hate the old school NL rules.
