He shouldn't have to quit.

He didn't abuse his wife.

People trying to make this Goodell's fault instead of Rice/Peterson/Dwyer are full of shit.

They just like the players and don't like Goodell.

Somehow it's suddenly the NFL's responsibility for every law their players break.

Let's not get it confused ... it's the players commiting domestic and child abuse not the NFL.

It was handled poorly.

But handling an administration and PR situation poorly is not abusing a wife or child. It's not even in the same stratosphere as committing a crime.

The NFL needs to get it's shit together about this sort of thing but domestic violence is not the NFL's fault.

If the NFL is strict about punishment, people get pissed and called it the No Fun League.

If the NFL isn't strict then people get pissed and act like it committed the crime itself.

total witch hunt

Simply a case of the media etc seeing a chance to tear the NFL down and seeing if they can get a commissioner fired.

Build them up, tear them down ... 'merica

Goodell took on the role of Uberdad, and he made it his responsibility with his get tough policies. Live by the sword, die by the sword.

**** him. Sean Payton got slapped, and ignorance was no excuse there. Goodell needs to go.

Well, IMHO, the law should handle it, not the employer. Innocent till proven guilty and all. Now there are special circumstances, but it isn't like Ray Rice played a down this season. It isn't like they saw the evidence and lessened the punishment.

That's an understatement. Completely ****ed this up is more accurate. It's not just this incident. It's goodells laughable flexible punishment system.

And Goodell should be fired anyway before he destroys the game. He is basically credited for making money on a cash cow and another year or so and he'd be responsible for its eventual demise. His pr during the lockout was beyond terrible. His punishments have been wildly inconsistent which matters a ton when you're talking about giving some teams advantage or disadvantage. He messed with the integrity of the game but forcing a game in London for who the **** knows why which takes away a home game for some team. He botched the draft this year by almost not getting it into radio city and then making the draft late in the year and he plans to **** it up by extending it more days. Thursday night football was a terrible idea and he even wants to add more days. He has pissed off fans by his ridiculous punishment of celebrations for who the **** knows why.

Oh yeah... And on top of that, this complete **** up on the ray rice situation.

One could argue that you have shown a pattern of apologetics towards incompetent or dishonest leadership.
