Late Night Bullshit Bar: Open

Come on in, cheap bastards. I welcome you to my humble saloon. We've got a full bar, so whatever you do, before you post in this thread, you gotta tell me what you're ordering.

We're open tonight. 'Tis a rainy day in my fair Springfield, and I've got my Christmas shit up throughout the bar, including a mistletoe that I've disguised and will expose at opportune times throughout this thread.

I've got a couple games on, right now Baylor's playing OK State. It's not exactly a big screen (the LNBS Bar is a classic dive) but it's the best I can do with all the money I've spent on the karaoke machine.

Come on in. What's on your mind? You've got a captive, borderline-alcoholic audience, and everybody wants to comment on YOUR bullshit.

Some things that have been floating around in my mind recently:

1. The Raiders loss has brought out a whole lot of interesting aspects of this board. But it reminds me why I almost always insist on watching the Chiefs with only a select few people: I can't stand the majority of grown men who are sports addicts. Women are usually more level-headed, and children are children. But grown men are huge babies, and it's incredibly aggravating to watch a game with. The CP Chat is about as bearable as it gets (the GDTs are just an orgy of intolerable id), but even in there you get a couple of assholes (*cough* pete *cough*) of people who trot out defeatist bullshit instead of weathering the ebbs and flows of the game. I don't know why it's so difficult to keep your emotions in check -- it's not even complicated.

2. We've had some conversation on this board about depression recently. I've struggled with depression earlier in my teens and early twenties, but defeated them over a protracted battle with it in my mid 20s. It takes incredible discipline, but now I fancy myself an extremely happy person. I've got my own "secrets" to it (not really secrets, but whatever) -- has anybody else in this thread defeated depression earlier in their lives? I'm very happy to share what I've learned about it should anybody care.

3. Women who are close with their parents are absolutely psychotic about them. I don't know what it is, but women are terrified of their parents. They are afraid if a parent ever comes into their home and it's in disarray, they will be banished from the family. On and on it goes. I am very close to my parents, but I've never truly cared if my parents ever approved of a girlfriend, how my home looks, or how I'm dressed. When women love their parents, they seem controlled by it. Maybe it's just my limited Ozarks exposure, but that's a stereotype I've seen develop.

Now, we have online learning. I can send the kids instructions and they can do work online. That also seems to cut down on stupidity and keeps the class instruction moving.
Interesting. I suppose when I have kids it'll all be different 10 years or so from now.

I'll take a Dupont Avec Les Bons Voeux. If you don't have that, Tank 7 is always fine by me.

I want to talk more about Pete and his negative attitude in the game chat. I know I'll probably be told to kick rocks since I'm the new guy, but that dude is almost unbearable at times in the chat. It's constant ref blaming. Wants a flag anytime somebody touches a Chief. Not to mention every third down we have to read "3rd & Sutton" or "3rd and Reid." I don't even know exactly what they mean, but I'm sure it's negative. I could not watch a game with that dude in person.

Just drinking red gatorade tonight.

I've been to the Dr. twice about my ****ing stomach. The latest diagnosis is that I have the H-Pylori bacteria in my duodenum that is giving me ulcer symptoms. No booze for the Buehler. On top of that, I have a sinus infection and my ear hurts like ****. Not sure if it's infected, but it sure as hell has fluid behind it. Fuuu******* this.

I'm working on getting my financials closed so I can get an estimate done before FYE.

Not a lot of good going on in this part of the world.

The ultra tense worryish behavior is something you see far more in the GDT. It's why I stopped posting there. I used to be just like pete, then the Chiefs destroyed my humanity. Now I just want to casually hang out with people and enjoy the game, and since there aren't any Chiefs fans I know well in my area of the country, you guys are my friends for 3 hours every game day.

Yeah, I still use all caps and occasionally tell the ref to stick his dick in a garbage disposal then press the on switch, but I really am easy going. If the Chiefs are gonna Chiefs it up, then so be it. That's not gonna stop me from talking about abortion aprons and making fun of the people on commercials I see. I want to have a good time, and the game chat is the best mode for that.

Anyway, yeah, I agree that Pete ruins the vibe we got going there, but it's okay, I guess. We all just tell him to shut up just like they would in the GDT. Somebody's gotta babysit him.

Water for me.

I doubt I watch football tomorrow. That Thursday night game sucked, we blew our chance to stay neck and neck in the division, and I know what's going to happen tomorrow: the Donks are going to bury the Dolphins. I have better things to do than watch the Bronco circlejerk.

This feature to teaching had been a godsend, if only the teachers we have, would utilize it. I just had my girlfriend's nine yo move in with us; we send her messages on the freaky ass ways she is teaching division, and get no responses back. How the **** am I supposed to maintain it, when you can't respond to my emails or messages in a calendar.

Wait for parent/teacher conference day; this bitch is going down! Was that off topic?

I went to be at 9:10 last night - mostly because I have no idea what to do 'socially' -- not a pity party - I really don't care.

But yeah - slept until 7am - straight through.

I feel great today - I'm doubling exercise routine and watching as little football as possible.

I may get some music over to blutooth later on.

I don't understand how math is taught today either. It seems to make it more confusing than before.

We have an understanding that teachers should respond within 24 hours.
I had a few new teachers whos voice messages did not work. Not fun once they did.

not off topic

Uhh. Yeah. Pretty much drink every day unless I'm doing something where I can't or that keeps me out so late that it's not worth pouring a drink when I get home.
