I do think fats are good in the diet even meat fat including cream and butter overall. I think it depends on what kind of diet one follows though in terms of keeping weight off. For instance lots of butter is fine if you're doing a paleo diet but carbs are very restricted. I wouldn't do well on that. I have to have a certain balance of fat, protein and carbs and some vegetarian. So while, I allow some saturated fats, I like to keep them in a certain balance. |

Kerry Gold is expensive though. If I could get it in wholesale bulk I'd buy it though.
EDIT: I just checked that Costco carries it but mine doesn't. Still pricy though. Might be a fine purchase for an occasion. |

I assure, you my diet is far more natural than most peoples. Much lower on the food chain overall with few processed or packaged foods. Like I said, I have chosen my poisons and use them sparingly to moderately.I've checked out the ingredients on the liquid version and they are not that bad. In fact it is made from what butter is made from in part. I never claimed to be 100% purist on eating naturally or organically. I mean grass fed beef is healthier too but I hate the taste when I tried it. Plus a lot of it is tough. I'll stick to the corn fed. I don't even buy all my produce organic because of price but also because not all produce is easily available. If you guys eat commercially produced corn, and I think most are, an argument could be made about that being even worse. As to whether this product tastes better—that's a matter of opinion and personal preference. I can't tell the difference at all. I think the name of the product is apt. |

You shouldn't freeze food. I've read that the ice crystals change the molecular structure of the food and it can cause cancer after you thaw it.

I have coconut oil, Earth Balance, Spectrum shortening, butter, olive oil, grape seed oil, sesame oil, peanut oil, canola oil a few more in small quantities as it goes bad. And I use the "Can't Believe" for a few dishes ( but not always - like if a holiday meal). I use a variety—not just one. I have cut down on the canola when it came under attack but I do use it for certain things where a large amount is needed as it's cheaper. In fact I tried finding one of the worst oils for you which was cottonseed oil cause Cafe du Monde and other bakers claim it's the best for beignets. Never found it anywhere. I'd use it for the rare occasions I'd make a beignet which is probably a few times in a lifetime though. |
