New Years Resolutions

We are just over a month into the new year and I found no threads related to this subject when I searched.

Did you make any promises to yourself for the new year? How are you doing on them, or it, if you did?

My New Years resolution is to fish more and care less.

My problem with getting to fish more and care less is seemingling over mount of bills that is going hold me back from doing all the fishing I want but I'm still going persevere and get through this somehow. Seems like the more I work the more I'm sunk doesn't make since at all.

What kind of fishing do you do?

You are certainly welcome! Come on down! I used to love it but do very little of it anymore, Bugeater can testify to that. I am certainly set up for it even though my fishing boat is not the ultimate.

Oh and mine was to lose weight which is working out very nicely so far, 14 lbs. since the middle of November. I hit that dreaded number that was motivation to change things.

I really miss the Boulevard wheat!

It has a place to sit, a place to put the cooler, and a place to set your pole while you drink beer. I thought it was perfect.

Oh, and as far as the actual thread topic, I didn't make any. But I suppose it would be nice if I actually finished my kitchen remodel sometime this year.

My favorite is night fishing for catfish then early dawn and into the morning bass start hitting it. I think drum are fun to catch and against popularity I think are good to eat too just got to cook it out of the bones.

I'm looking at walleye during spawning this year had a nice one last year that I just about got to shore but broke my line just as I was getting him. Mother ****er. I had him

Drum are underrated fighters, I totally agree

I've heard from people what you're alluding to about not being good food fish... too bony and oily, how do you cook them?

What ? You need someone to stress test your balcony repair ?
Of course I was kidding about showing up. Anytime I see you on CP I think of that area and start thinking about my favorite spots on up the James and Flat Creek and down in the Piney area.Nowadays I do almost all my fishing in rivers and creeks. If I lived on the lake like you I would burn myself out on fishing.

My resolution is to spend more time trying to catch all the ones that got away in the past.

It my be a little unorthodox but seems to work I'd butter a pan or oil and fry it battered in flower and seasons a filet and flip it but then start adding water and let it simmer in water. I just make sure the meat is fully cooked. Drum doesn't have the gamey taste that catfish and bass have imo so I really like drum in comparison.
