2015

Well, the season's over and the Chiefs will be picking somewhere in the top 16 and will have at least three compensation picks.

Vested vets who probably won't be on the roster next season and will be released: Tamba Hali, Anthony Fasano, Mike DeVito and Chase Daniel.

Vets who are possibly justifiable in being released to free up cap space: Dwayne Bowe, Sean Smith, Derrick Johnson and Dustin Colquitt.

2015 free agents: Rodney Hudson, Allen Bailey, Anthony Sherman, Justin Houston and Thomas Gafford.

2016 free agents: Eric Berry, Dontari Poe.

Concerning the guys who are probably gone, it's fair to say that Daniel and Hali's replacements are already one the team with Aaron Murray/Tyler Bray and Dee Ford respectively. Of the possibly released list, Sean Smith's replacement in Phil Gaines is already on the roster. Of the '15 free agents, Rodney Hudson will likely be supplanted by Eric Kush assuming he doesn't re-sign.

Assuming all of the aforementioned, the Chiefs will *probably* be looking for an OLB (or transition to a 4-3 and find a DE), TE and DE (or 4-3 DT) as well as possibly looking for a WR and ILB with their picks in the first three rounds of next Spring's draft and will be looking for C, DE and CB help in the later rounds.

Things get hairy if you assume Houston walks next Winter and there's no effort to re-sign both Berry or Poe. Given Dorsey's track record, Houston is as good as gone and the weaker performer in '14 between Poe and Berry walks as well. For sake of example, that will be Poe.

Therefore, the holes most seemingly pressing in the '15 draft will be:
ROLB (Hali's role)
LOLB (Houston's role)
NT
WR
ILB
DE

and depth drafting needed at TE, CB and C.

That's nine spots with what will likely be at least 10 draft picks.

Draftmen, who (or what positions) will be the top five guys selected by Dorsey next April(hopefully) and who are the top five guys *YOU* would take assuming KC is picking anywhere in the top 16.
