OK, I'll bite. Why are you asking this question and how are football and geometry related?

Yes.
The angles in which he had his receivers run were purely based on geometry. The man was a genious and even more of a genius for identifying players that could run at the exact angles he required. He even taught this to George Siefert, who had players like Ronnie Lott play angles. |

Triangles, basically.

Don't know it that is what he would call it, but he clearly designed offensive motion to stretch defensive structure such that it could not physically defense all available options.
Don't know if that's more geometry or physics. And Sid Gillman started it. It depends more on the ball handler recognizing what is developing, but Sid, then he really developed the solid dependable stretching formations.

Not sure if I agree with the terminology but I get the basis now. Without arguing over semantics I'll say yes.

Sid definitely deserves credit.

I would call him an expert agrarian since he developed rice.
In terms of play design, I would suspect that he was good at geometry. Maybe it's also statistics, because really the main thing he did was maximize yards per play by finding the most efficient plays.

I would consider Joe Walsh an expert in triponometry.

Is there an award for this?
Because I'm positive we could get Alex Smith to be the opening speaker for such an event.

He was a disciple of Paul Brown whom he helped develop an offense for weak armed QBs....the WRs had to run precision routes to get the short passing game to work because of the QBs limitations...Took this offense to the Niners and made history..
