Anybody use a room/space heater that is safe for pets?

It's cold. I have 3 pets. Every space heater I've owned burned to the touch.

Right now it's between 25 at night and 50 in the day, and inside my house its a constant 40 degrees or so. I'm San Diegan, therefore, that is immensely cold.

Anyone have a safe for pet space heater that you recommend?

Thanks.

That is quite a lot of power in that little box. And for old houses with old circuits, especially the lowest-rated 15 amp house circuits, that’s a heavy load of electricity you’re pumping through that wall outlet.
Yep, but if his house has no heat and an option is a fire hazard then it's an issue.

I'm always amazed at the "it only uses the same energy as a coffee maker!" spiel. Really? People are stupid.

Yeah all it takes is the wrong fuse and the wire in the wall can resemble the little wires you see inside a toaster when you stick a slice of bread in there.

Space heaters aren't the wisest decision to leave on while you are away from the house. Would you leave your stove on when you leave your house? How about an iron?

I guess if you're just worried about your dog you could always go buy a pig mat. I have one in each of my dogs houses outside running 24/7 when it gets cold.

Yeah, I wouldn't leave it on while not at work. I can leave it on at night and then turn it off when I leave for work.

The good infrared heaters aren't like the old space heaters. Infrared heaters are like leaving a light on while you're away.

I have a 760w air conditioner that draws at 7 amps that I use during the summer. I need to keep a 200 square foot room warm, I don't think that I need a 1500w heater to do the job.

That's good to know. I have never had one of those I have only had dealings with the old burn your house down/stand outside and watch your power meter spin like the second hand on a bad watch models.

I imagine if I leave the room at 70 when I leave at 4:30 am, then it will stay warmer in the room until I get back home. She's just a puppy so hopefully she's naturally get warmer, and I can't leave her in the room alone much longer anyways.
