Anybody use a room/space heater that is safe for pets?

It's cold. I have 3 pets. Every space heater I've owned burned to the touch.

Right now it's between 25 at night and 50 in the day, and inside my house its a constant 40 degrees or so. I'm San Diegan, therefore, that is immensely cold.

Anyone have a safe for pet space heater that you recommend?

Thanks.

I live in an old ass apartment with shitty windows.

I'm currently wearing 2 layers of clothing, and am not too cold, but my hands are freezing. Also my dog is shaking because she's too cold, I want her to be comfortable while I go to work every day. The cats are covered in fur and they're fine.

We have a heated ceiling that has never been turned on in the 2 years I've lived here because I don't trust it's safety, especially having seen all the shit that has broken down or flooded in my complex since I've been here.

Yep, you need an infrared heater similar to one of these. You can easily heat a bedroom or a living room with one of these.

I have one almost exactly like that. It would definitely make a difference Buck if you want to spend the $$.

One like this is the one to get. I have a Sun Comfort version. Works well inexpensive heat and will do a whole house if its not like 20 degrees out

Yeah I use two that don't get hot at all to the touch. Walmart $20. Complete with knock over shut down and overheat protection.

Also maybe 40 was an overexaggeration. Probably closer to 48-50. Either way, it's not comfortable.

You're right to be cautious of space heaters. If you end up with the wrong one and something goes wrong, the last thing you will have to worry about is your place being to cold because it could get very hot very fast when your couch is on fire.

What kind of dog do you have?

Supposedly she's a Border Collie / Cattledog mix. I am not 100% sure, so I call her a mutt. I'll post a pic in a sec.

Awww...that's a little cutie good dog. Looks a little pitbull-ish.
I have a Heat Dish from Costco. Dog loves to plant herself in front of it.
Here's the thing--dogs learn quickly. If he gets too close, it won't hurt too bad--and he'll never do it again.

Didn't realize you wanted a heater to run all day while you're gone. That's a little different.
Other than putting it somewhere high the dog can't get to, not sure I trust anything sitting on the floor all day.

No that's not what I want. I want the heater to run while I'm home, and sleeping at night. I want it to be cool to the touch, and safe to run while I'm sleeping.
