So we release a Pro Bowl CB who doesn't fit the scheme, and pick up a 5th/6th CB who doesn't fit the scheme.

Agreed. But Flowers' not fitting the scheme was was one the main rationalizations around here for letting him go.

Around here sure.

In real life, i'd imagine money and skill were the main reason for him being released.

In some people's minds maybe. I can guarantee you it was all about the money.

I believe it had to do with him always being some level of injured along with the money. I always thought he preferred bump and run over zone.

Bump and run isn't man or zone.

Flowers was drafted primarily for his zone skills. We're almost exclusively man on the back end now.

QFT. Not so much whether its man/zone, but the dollar per performance ratio.

The Chiefs under Dorsey have drafted THREE players that didn't have injury concerns in two years.

EVERY ****ING DRAFT PICK HAS INJJRY CONCERNS other than our new Canadian G and......um.......non one else!

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

Yeah, I think that might be the Packers way. How many players did they have injured when they won the Superbowl? LOL.

Just some P-Squad camp fodder. We're ****ed this year. May as well just accept it and move on. 8-8 will be a fine season.

Yep. And Flowers would likely still be a Chief if the dollar$ were what the Bolts are paying him.

Great open field tackler as well. He was really good at blowing up sweep plays and screens. I think we could miss him more than some people believe. His cap number was just too high and I get that, but damn. I hope Cooper progresses nicely and Gaines turns out ok.
