He's the QB we have for better or worse, so lets get him some guys he can work with.
If the price is right. Just saying we have an elite back and potentially an elite defense so build on that first. Make that the identity of the team. We arent going to all of a sudden throw it all over the place with Alex at QB. In a decade he has never shown to be able to be that guy.

In theory, I agree about what our identity should be... with these backs we should be a ground and pound, play action offense.

However, it wont work in practice... as long as Reid is here, we all know he is never going to make that our identity, he loves to get cute and throw it around.

If he's going to be that way, lets atleast improve its chance of success, thats all I'm saying.

There is no free agent acquisition that can improve KC's fortunes.

Looking at the stats, Bowe got the least amount of YAC per reception on the team for any of our playmakers.

Bowe averaged 4.1 YAC/R
Charles 8.3 YAC/R
Kelce 7.6 YAC/R
Thomas 7.9 YAC/R
Wilson 7.8 YAC/R

Citing what Cobb does in Green Bay is pointless. Teams are forced to defend the entire field when they play the Packers and that makes those underneath routes all the more effective. Case in point: Eddie Lacy averaged 10 yards per catch to Jamaal's 7.

Does anyone here honestly believe that Eddie Lacy is a more effective receiver than Jamaal? Or do you guys think the threat of Rodgers making a throw anywhere on the field causes those LBs and safeties to drop deeper in their coverage and leave more room open underneath?

I don't necessarily disagree, but they've got to have a better passing attack. So they've got to put more weapons on the field and if it still is shitty, replace the QB or whatever reason it isn't shitty.

Yeah but look at the YAC/R stats I posted a couple post above yours. Bowe was the only one not to post respectable numbers. You don't think Cobb could do better than him in that area?

Couldnt disagree more, if Smith has more of "his" kinda guys outside, it stands to reason that he'll use them more often.

A couple of rookies and bottom barrel free agents is not the upgrade we need.

Agree.

Its why Cobb shouldn't be the only WR addition this offseason, if thats the way they go.

Just keep stocking the talent and if Smith still sucks (likely) it's more obvious and lets move on.

It's not THAT bad.

Kelcy
Charles
Bowe
DAT

Adding like Torrey Smith and maybe another pick should be plenty. Also a Fasano upgrade wouldn't hurt.

Don't know. But isn't that an argument for why Cobb would be a much better fit in our offense and be able to produce much better than Bowe?
