Any valid critique of Mahomes doesn't have any relation to Alex Smith's attributes.

The main board is becoming more like DC every day, just switch Alex for Hillary and Mahomes for Trump.

It is impossible to say anything positive about Smith or negative about Mahomes, even if justified, without some blathering idiot creating a strawman or other meaningless comparison/argument.

Hi, thanks for watching Chiefs football. This must be your first game. Andy Reid, Head Coach of the Kansas City Chiefs, is the answer you are looking for. Thanks for enjoying what must have been your first game.

Damn that was a fun game to watch. Last week was interesting, but the penalty flag parade made it difficult to enjoy.

This is the most exciting preseason in years, and I can not wait for Friday to get here to see more of this.

If they can land a mid round draft pick for West(4th or 5th),they should jump on it. I wouldn't want to be Veach on cut day.

Alex looked a tad better than expected, but I don't expect much from captain checkdown. Mahomes showed his athleticism that could make the trade compensation a STEAL. I can't wait to see him under center after a full year in the system. And Bray..... damn. The kid absolutely has the arm, but he lacks the "it" factor that separates him from Mahomes. I see him in the system a couple more seasons while the team looks for a reliable backup through the draft or free agency.
Keep 4 RBs and cut Bray.

It's not like we're going to win with him if (god forbid) both Smith and Mahomes go down.

To be honest, the first thing I noticed was an offensive line that was allowing ludicrously long unmolested times in the pocket, particularly early in the clip.

The second thing I noticed is great pocket presence and keeping his eyes downfield.

I think his comment is speaking to the endless excuses and leeway people have given Alex in his time here, versus being critical of a rookie in his 2nd game.

Rookies are going to make rookie mistakes.

12 year vets shouldn't be.

I think it also makes people think, "If Alex is making the same mistakes without the upside, why aren't we starting the rook?"

Maybe I'm wrong, but that's how I read comments like his.
