Broncos @ Chiefs

Now that the games are settled from week 7, these are the only stats that provide me with some glimmer of home for something exciting as I prepare for what is likely going to be strong loss on the road.

There are a number of things wrong with the Denver offense and while it's a road game, at least this doesn't appear to be the Chiefs' defense from years past. Anything can happen and while I'm certainly not expecting it, it's the only glimmer of hope.

Kelce and Hill are the keys. Denver has played well against RBs this season, so while Hunt will have his moments, it's the other two that concern me. Hill and Kelce lit them up for big plays last season and Denver's defense has often given up big days to good TEs in recent years.

No matter how much Denver's offense sucks, this is a game their defense really has to contain and exploit the offense.

Chiefs have played defenses that rank in total yards given up as follows: 32, 26 (L), 20, 13, 12, 11 and 2 (L).

Defensive Stats

Total Yards Allowed
DEN (1st) 258.5
KC (29th) 396.3

1st Downs Allowed
DEN (1) 14.3
KC (30) 23.7

3rd Down %

DEN (1) 26%
KC (17) 40%

Total Passing Allowed
DEN (6) 186.7 --- 11 TDs allowed / 4 INT (avg 31 pass attempts against per game)
KC (28) 271.7 --- 13 TDs allowed / 5 INT (avg 36 pass attempts against per game)

Total Rushing Allowed
DEN (2) 71.8 (avg 23 rush attempts against per game) – 0 Rushing TDs allowed (1st)
KC (25) 124.6 (avg 26 rush attempts against per game) – 6 Rushing TDs allowed (25th)

Again, I'm not predicting a win, I think Denver loses by 13-17 based on the way they've played coming out of the bye week. Losing Sanders and a few others, they've lost focus of what went well on offense early on.

I know - the majority of those here will point to home games, and that's fine. All I'm saying is that if the defense holds up their end of the bargain, then McManus needs to figure out why he's not so hot kicking the ball right now.

Ok, flame away... I don't know if you can call it a trap game for KC since both teams are on 0-2 losing streaks, but I'll take whatever I can get.

Blackop --- is there a reason as to why the league would conspire against KC @ home this week? If so, please let us know, that would be encouraging news.

Fake? How so? I think the Chiefs have already shown us who they are. Only "fake" to those who don't want to believe them...
