And if the Royals are in the playoff hunt in 2015, I have no doubt he'll be back on the Royals roster in September.
What I meant is that if he is unable to hit, he won't make it out of the minors. At some point years down the road we'd have to let him go. We drafted him only for speed hoping to teach him how to play, so he needs to squirrel his playoff money away in case he doesn't become a regular MLB player.

The ceremonial first pitch for game 1 will be thrown by a decorated soldier who is involved with the VA and the wounded warriors.

The ceremonial first pitch for game 2 will be thrown by George Brett.

For those hoping for Frank White, its just not happening. He doesn't want to do it.

The story of White and the Royals is sad...but it appears the Royals did reach out to White but he didn't reciprocate. He'll eventually regret it. Oh well.

Love the soldier, and Brett of course.

Ned has just announced that Guthrie will pitch game 3 and Vargas will pitch game 4.

No surprise, pretty much what we expected.

What are your thoughts on Duffy? Do you think their plans for him at this point would be as long relief?

In the world series, yes.

Long-term, no.

Whether they are right or wrong, the Royals think Duffy has a mechanical problem pitching from the windup that they can correct for next year.

It's also possible he has dead arm and they're just protecting him in a way that doesn't turn it into a media storm.

We'll find out if they get into an actual situation where the long man is needed. If they don't, we'll never know.

He has thrown over 150 innings this year after throwing less than 100 last year... it's possible they've just gotten everything they can from the Duffman this year.
