I would because Bobby Wagner is the best middle linebacker in the NFL. Russell Wilson is not the best QB in football and never will be.

Don't get me wrong, I like Wilson. He's clutch and has moxie. However, he's limited as a thrower and as a NFL level QB. He's the modern day equivalent of Doug Flutie. And I liked Flutie. But they are the same guy. If they can keep a team around him, they can win, but Wilson, on his own, cannot carry a team.

I don't think he's as good as Alex Smith TBPH.

What part of, "he would be superior to Alex in every conceivable way in Reid's system" are you just not getting?

Now don't get me wrong: I find Reid's WCO to be a bag of dicks, and Smith to be deplorable. That said, he IS the coach, it IS the system, and Wilson is the premier guy to be running it.

That team was absolutely loaded and ready when Wilson stepped in as QB. Most of their draft picks had panned out and were kept and played by the team. It was a young team, but had continuity, attitude and an identity.

As well, Gus Bradley put in place a defensive philosophy that was excellent for the personnel that they had and Pete Carroll was able to instill his infectious enthusiasm into the young team.

Wilson was given a chance that, in most likelihood, no other team in the NFL would have given him and he jumped on it and has done a very good job in quarterbacking the team.

They were the youngest team overall in NFL history to win a Superbowl.

However, as another has pointed out, they have a plethora of starters, very high quality starters, coming up for free agency. Okung and Wagner among them - two guys who should be considered among the best at their respective positions in the entire NFL.

They will have one more chance at a run at the Superbowl in 2015 before salary demands at key positions breakup the team (potentially). This is why Wilson is wanting his money now, before the decline or breakup and he's forced to shoulder more of the load personally and his numbers and effectiveness take a hit thus lowering his perceived value on the open market.

With the Seahawks, it was immediately apparent that they were a much better team when Bobby Wagner was on the field. With Wilson, the guy can throw for 103 yards and still win a playoff game. Throw four interceptions and still win a playoff game. I'm not sure that I give that guy $20 million a season without the respective pieces in place and if those respective pieces are in place, I would be inclined to go with a more natural or prototypical NFL QB versus the try hard midget.

With the 2015 Chiefs, I sincerely believe that the pieces are in place for a serious three year run. They've had back to back winning seasons with some serious caveats attached to the team, but have addressed those issues (for the most part) this off-season. They are ready.

Wilson has played in 8 postseason games and has thrown multiple INTs once.

The Colts rely heavily on Luck to win games, way more so than Seattle relies on Wilson to win games. For me, Luck is the best QB in the NFL.

I'm somewhat perplexed that you find Reid's offensive system to be a "bag of dicks" seeing as we've had back to back winning seasons for the first time in 20 years (which came off of the single worst season in franchise history).

The results say it works, and works quite well.

Wilson is similar to Smith from a QB style perspective. Their stats have been relatively similar over the past three seasons. They are both accurate, mechanical passers with good athleticism showing the ability to break from the pocket and run. Both are smart and have command of their systems. However, Wilson fumbles a lot, takes a high number of sacks (behind a much better line than Smith has had to work with over the same three year period) as well as having the obvious physical limitations in terms of height and weight.

At this point, I would take Smith over Wilson. In fact, I think we already have a Wilson on the roster in Aaron Murray. (One could even argue that Chase Daniel was a Wilson type prospect coming out of college.)

Doug Flutie? You're out of your ****ing mind. Wilson is still very young. Young QBs don't carry their teams early on. You don't know if he can or can't.
