The "Whacko Neighbors" Thread

Don't know if this has been done before as the search feature tis no more. How about we lay all of our neighborly issues out on the planet and let the judge and jury decide what you should do the next time you and "the neighbors" are face to face across the street.
----------------------------------------------------------
Moved into a new neighborhood last June and I wouldn't say we were "welcomed" per se...no fresh baked pies, knock on the door & a handshake. Kind of expected though being where we are in society.

"The neighbors" across the street, late 30s couple (same as us) with a 3yr old daughter (we have a 3yr old daughter and a 1 yr old son). I've had a couple conversations with the guy and seems ok, known as the neighborhood drinker/partier....cool by me. The wife has a slight lisp which may contribute to the following: my wife has tried multiple times to strike up conversation with her being that they are both stay at home moms, to no avail. The wife actively straight up ignores her in common one-on-one situations. My wife will say "hi" she'll turn around and go inside.

"Different strokes for different folks" is what my grandma would always say.

Current house isn't too bad.

There's a single mom with her ex-con tweaker brother that has 3 little ****ers that's a couple houses down. Their house is trashed and her kids try to bully my son because they're jealous that their mom is a pill-head whore and he has 2 parents.

Next to them is a grandma, tweaker dad, and 3 boys (20,17,16). The boys are good kids and befriended my wife's knucklehead nephew that lived with us so we could get him graduated from highschool.

I used to live across from a shitty all-bills-paid apartment complex that didn't follow the law on how many people could live in an apartment. Shitty cinder block buildings with minimal windows and a **** load of Mexicans living in most of the apartments (there were a couple Asian families that had 7 people living in a one bedroom apartment too). I can't remember how many times I had to come out and yell at ****ers for blasting banda music at 2-3 AM. I didn't really care but my racist neighbor cared and would call the cops all the ****ing time. As a early to mid-20's guy who liked to go out and frequently smoked weed in the car, I didn't want the cops on my street constantly.

I had two pit bulls at the time and that entire complex was scared of them because of former across the street assholes that had a pit that bit someone. So any time the assholes blasting music wanted to get lippy, I would threaten to let my dogs out after them. The music was shut off pretty quickly after that.

I have had neighbor issues at times throughout the years. Right now, it's the next door neighbors. They are a young couple late 20s/early 30s with one toddler. They got a dog spring of last year. Then they built a small 6X4 cage to put it in when they are in the yard. Of course, this drives the dog crazy and it wants to bark constantly. I have been in my backyard many times and yelled over at the dog or yelled at them to please make it shut up. They leave that dog outside all the time. I feel sorry for the poor thing. They should not have a dog if they aren't willing to walk it and play with it and give it some attention.

House across the street is a rental. There is a lady with 2 or 3 young children and one girl who is early teens. They are mostly quiet but one day the lady was yelling at the girl something about being a whore and she should send her back to her mom. It sounded as if this was maybe a niece or something like that and the lady had caught her with a boy. Cops showed up soon after.

Another time the dog catcher showed up to catch their little Chihuahua. It limps around as though one of its legs is injured. The damn thing is always getting out and running around. People really need to learn to control their animals.

Before these neighbors in the rental across the street their was an old couple. The old man looked like a ghetto Santa and talked as if he was from Louisiana, or perhaps more like Boomhower from King Of The Hill. I knew the day they moved in it was trouble. No pool but a pool raft laying in the front yard. Love seat on the front porch. Real classy. This couple would fight. In the year or so that they lived there the cops probably showed up for a domestic disturbance no less than 10 times. Also, the old man had a heart condition and an ambulance was called a few times, as well.

Pretty much the rest of my neighbors are okay.

I'd say my wife is somewhat of an introvert like this example. Although a lot of that has stemmed with our ex-neighbors being NOSEY as ****.
EVERY TIME we would come outside, they would come out and try to start conversation and ask us questions about our jobs, our kids, etc.
Sometimes people just want to be left the **** alone.

Luckily I have got along with most of my neighbors except for a few incidents, usually involving fireworks where I was shooting them off on the 4th of July, it was after 10 but not Midnight yet and perfectly legal. I know they did not like the noise, had to work the next morning, bla bla bla but its only one ****ing night, and legal. Hell maybe its me who is the jackass neighbor but it pissed me off. Another neighbor of mine called the cops on me because my AC broke and I had my son there with me, it was hot but we were only there during night/evening/morning when it was cool, the windows were open and there were plenty of fans. It was in July on a hot weekend and I could not get the AC repair guy to come until the middle of the week since they were all slammed. If I ever find out who that neighbor is I am going to smash a bowling ball through their windshield.

I don't have any stories at present, other than my neighborhood has seemingly been invaded by MILFs.

I lived by a prick that had a hot rod gremlin. He had a yellow lab mix that shit constantly in my front yard. I had a big bay window in the front of my house overlooking the yard. I was home from work one day and the heavy curtains looked as if the window was open and air was blowing in. I went to look and it was my 22 pound Siamese Cat whipping his tail while watching the dog shit in my yard. His name was Sebastian i always thought he was just a big puss. He never went outside ever. So while the dog was in my yard i slowly opened my door. Sebastian was on point. He slid out the door and bounded about four times then leaped on top of this probably 50 pound dog. He destroyed that dog. Hair was flying and the sound, oh the sound. When he was done Sebastian came back in like nothing ever happened. Needless to say that dog never shit in my yard again. Which was great as I had kids that their shoes were like shit magnets.

The first apartment I had by myself, the guy in the unit next to me offed himself by running his gas line into a plastic sack tied around his head. He wasn't much of an annoyance after that though.

A couple years later, a month after I moved out, a guy in the same building turned on the water main on the top floor and flooded one side of the building.

My new neighbors are cool. One is a former deputy. All try to mow the yard on the same day so all of our places look nice.

Years ago I had a super annoying neighbor. I could hear him yodeling at all hours of the night. Just an odd duck. Drove an apricot Beamer.

Wonder what happened to that guy...

I have a neighbor who is a single mom with an autistic son. She seems like a nice person, and obviously has her hands full with her son. Sometimes I'll clear her driveway in the winter, she has a yard service for the summer so I don't cut her grass. Here's the problem...

...she has a TON of "out door cats". Started with like 5 when she moved in, now she's got 8 I believe. She doesn't think much of it, but it's becoming a problem. The cats show up in my yard, shit in my plants, harass my stupid little dog (who should stand up for herself, but that's another matter) and leave half eaten birds and mice all over the place. My wife has just about had it, and I'm with her. The problem is, I know there is no solution for this woman. If I mention it to her, she'll not have any solutions. All I can do is tell her it's a problem, and that if I see them in my yard I'll have to do something about it. Wife wants to trap them and send them to the humane society, I'd like to shoot them with my pellet gun.

We live in a SID and believe it or not, there is no law or ordinance that prevents her from having that many damn cats.

Sucks, and I feel bad for her, but we have to do something about this soon.
