Chiefs vs Arizona snap count

Chiefs’ preseason opener snap counts: S Eric Berry in on 8 plays
Posted in Featured, Preseason By Herbie Teope+ On August 16, 2015 Print article

Free safety Eric Berry returned to live action Saturday night less than a year after defeating Hodgkin lymphoma as the Chiefs defeated the Arizona Cardinals, 31-19, in the preseason opener.

While Berry was limited to eight snaps in the second quarter before he exited the game, the former first-team All-Pro and three-time Pro Bowl selection took nothing for granted.

“Everything counts,” Berry told reporters during his postgame media session. “Practices count. Meetings count. Walk-throughs count. I have been put in a position where I wished I could just come out and watch my teammates. The fact I am out here playing with them in this situation I take … everything is a blessing. I love football.”

The starters on both side of the ball saw limited action, with the first-team defense getting one series in the first quarter before giving way to the backup.

The Chiefs return to St. Joseph, Mo., and resume training camp practice Monday before wrapping up camp Wednesday. The Chiefs host the Seattle Seahawks at Arrowhead Stadium on Friday in preseason action.

Meanwhile, below is a breakdown of offensive, defensive and special teams snaps from Saturday night’s game, as pulled from the official game book.

Quarterback Tyler Bray (knee), offensive lineman Garrett Frye (knee), and wide receivers Junior Hemingway (hip), rookie Jeret Smith (hamstring) and rookie Chris Conley did not play.

Conley, who recently returned to practice after missing time in training camp with a knee strain, was dressed for the game.

Starting inside linebacker Josh Mauga (heel) and starting defensive tackle Dontari Poe (back) did not play.

Joining the duo as not participating in the preseason opener were linebackers James-Michael Johnson (calf) and rookie D.J. Alexander (ankle), and defensive end Mike Catapano, who suffered a groin injury Tuesday and did not practice Wednesday.

One thing I've noticed already is that our depth is excellent. Watching both the Steelers and Cardinals, their depth sucks compared to us. Our 2nd string looked like they were playing against a high school team.

Daniel to Williams was a hell of a good combination.

All of those images are too small for me to make out. Enlarging distorts them too much.

Can anyone else see them well?

Very true, the Chiefs have quality depth. However, the Cardinals can say that their 1st team looked like they were playing against a High School team. End of 1st qtr, score was 10 - 0. Palmer and their offense looked great while Smith and our offense clearly had issues, along with our defense.

Our D had one bad play. Other that they were fine.

This board gives up when the teams fall behind...in all sports. It's sad and hilarious at the same time.

Poe's presence is extremely valuable , and hopefully he'll have an epic recovery to his old when he's ready to play.
