Has Anyone Else Bought A New Gas Can Recently?

My old plastic gas can developed a leak, so I replaced it with a new one. Apparently, the federal government has mandated that all new gas cans be "spill-proof." Mine has a spring-loaded cap that you have to pull back, which exposes the spout which exposes the plug. Unfortunately, this "spill-proof" design makes it virtually impossible NOT to spill ****ing gas all over the place when filling up the mower...

I was outside, covered in fuel, basically laughing my ass off at the stupidity of it, and was wondering if others have had the same issues?

I used that type of mower until we eventually took our lawn back to nature. It was peaceful in relation to the cacophony of motorized mowers.

I just used one of these and it was awesome. The one I have has a lip to catch the side of the mower gas intake. The first design I had was a trigger and it ****ing sucked. Topped off my mower and spilled nothing. Win

I have an oldschool one, but my friend has one like this. Dunno if it meets the new standards, but it's easy to use and doesn't leak when using it.

That's funny. I just posted that I've used a trigger type and didn't have a problem with it. Maybe it's just that some companies suck at designing for the new requirements?

These work great. Just push the green button and the gas pours out.

For some reason I picture you using an electric lawnmower with solar power wings on each side and a windmill on top to generate electricity to charge a battery. Unfortunately you have to stop every 5 minutes to let the battery charge up.

The good thing is that it has a little wind chime hanging off the windmill with pictures of Obama hand-painted on each chime by an illegal immigrant child to help you pass the time.

Not a government problem. A manufacturing problem.
