Ever been to the Buffalo/Niagra Falls area? Help me out.

Ok...here's the deal.

Traveling to Niagara Falls, ON later this year. Tell me about the procedure crossing into Canada from Buffalo...i've always flown in and out of Canada.

So....Should i fly to Buffalo and drive 45 mins, or should i fly to Toronto and drive 1:15 mins (at least that's what mapquest said)????

I couldn't go to Niagara. I went to the Hoover Dam and just wanted to jump and fly. Really strong, and frightening, urge.

Buffalo is definitely cheaper, and closer. It is the choice unless driving across the border is a pain in the ass.

The 'process' is nothing really. Normal questions.

During the winter, wait times to cross will be quick. Up to an hour during the summer.

Google estimates your drive time at 27 minutes (based simply on Buffalo --> Niagara Falls). Perhaps Mapquest figures in the wait time.

Driving across the border on the American side is the most miserable experience possible. Just the traffic alone is enough to make you want to turn around and leave. It's a lot easier going back across the border from the Canadian side.

Everything i've heard/read so far indicates otherwise.

I lived in TO for a year from late 06-07 at the Suites at One King West. Awesome city! Much better than Buffalo and now that the dollar has jumped back to old hig levels against the CDN$, you can get more bang for your buck!

I was very pleasantly surprised at Toronto. I kind of envisioned it as being a generic modern city, but it had lots of nice neighborhoods and residential architecture. I think I could live in Toronto.
