Big loss, but probably doesn’t completely derail their season. Definitely takes away an important element to their offense though.

Yip.

Mexico City was a horrible place to visit when I went 30 years ago. A real dangerous place. I’m sure it’s different these days.

A buddy of mine is flying out Monday morning, they are being picked up at the airport by a car, with security. Taken to the game, with security. Watching the game.. with security. Back to the airport.. with security. And finally, boarding the plane, with security.

That shit makes me nervous.

I've been to several places in Mexico, met a dude on a cruise who was telling me about being in Mexico City.

Basically told me it's dangerous as **** however he liked it there because in his words a cop stops you for anything shake his hand with a 50 in your palm and you're good to go every single time no matter what.

Dude was Mexican lol, but yea I've been to a lot of places in the Carribean/Mexico and no way I'd go to Mexico city.

Could be worse.

The cops in Zimbabwe will literally stop you at the checkpoints on the way to the airport, tell you to roll down your window and say "what do you have for me?"

People have no idea how good we have it in America.

Yeah, my understanding is that it's actually a pretty cool modern city with some areas you should avoid, like any other huge metropolis. It's gotta be way safer than the rural areas and small towns controlled by the cartels.

My brother lived in Mexico City for a few years. He said its basically like any other big city in that it is made up of neighborhoods. Some neighborhoods are as safe as any other place in the world. Some are really dangerous. Some police look for bribes, others don't. Of course, the difficult thing for a foreigner is that you don't know which neighborhoods are what. I'm sure a few hours of research could give one a fairly good idea where they will be safe and where they are taking greater than normal risks.

I've been to Mexico City twice (for work) and will be going for a third time next week for the game.

I'm not a big fan of places that have spotty rule-of-law issues, but I never had any problems either of my prior visits. As someone else said, it's like any other city where there are good parts and bad parts.

All of that being said, I'll definitely be taking a car service to the game rather than public transportation that the NFL seems to endorse. I think a game like that is a potential magnet for issues and have no interest in testing my luck.
