Big Bang Theory: Main actors agree to $1 million per episode...

Not bad work if you can get it...

It's $1 million each for the actors per episode. The advertisers must pay ridiculous amounts to sell their products.

Think, real hard. Then go look up "mutually exclusive" if it still hasn't come to you.

Okay then.
Mutually exclusive means each concept excludes the other.

Good - possible
Popular - possible
Both - impossible

So as worded those ARE irreconcilable statements.

Oh wow. You're right. I've been misusing that phrase for...ever. I'll have to find another way to express what I mean.

Thanks for that.

This must be Hollywood accounting. The $325K per 30-second commercial doesn't come close to paying salaries and production costs.
They probably get a nice chunk from syndication and whatnot.

IMO, the blond also deserves $1mil...per boob. Fun fact, she was Hoyt's girlfriend in True Blood for a season or two.

Are they laughing at Penny being a nerd? Not all nerds are as socially misfit as these guys. It's exaggerated for humor. Humor is creating things that don't fit normally.

I know I responded to this already. I just had to re-read the thread to find where anyone even said "...that The Big Bang Theory is quality television because a lot of people watch it." No one said that. There were posts stating mainly preferences like: "really enjoy it."..."it's a funny show"..."I like the show a lot" etc. I said it was successful and popular. For someone calling out the use of logical fallacies, you used the strawman fallacy where I bolded your words. Yet, you were the one tossing "strawman" out to another poster.

This is the quote I was referring to numb nuts.
Quote:
It has very high ratings for reason. It's well liked and popular.
Textbook appeal fallacy. You assume that because it has high ratings, it is therefore well liked and popular. This doesn't discredit the notion that while a lot of people do enjoy it, a lot of people also think it's terrible and unfunny.
