Do you believe in ghosts?

BLUF: I'm either hallucinating or being haunted.

This year has been tough academically. 23.5 credit hours on top of athletic and musical activities doesn't leave a ton of free time. In a few hours, I'll have two tests, a lab, and a problem set due. Nights like tonight mean lots of 5 Hour Energy, lots of frustration, and no sleep. Each time I stay up through the night and sit in the hallway to do work, I hear voices down the hall, but there's never anyone there. I can't believe that I'm anywhere near exhausted enough to be imagining voices.. Before this building housed cadets, it was a hospital with a morgue and crematory in the basement.

So, what do you think? Am I going crazy, or am I walking among the restless souls?

I’d agree with you, on my story….If I hadn’t had to replace those attic windows that had every single piece of glass outside the house and spread about 100’ across the yard on multiple sides.

Believe me or not, it ****ing happened.

On the bright side, when I yelled at it, he left and went to Walmart to get himself a night light. He’s now afraid I’m hiding in his closet.

Experiencing it yourself definitely makes a difference.

I did wonder if I was the victim of an elaborate prank - the guy I was visiting certainly has had his share of mischievous moments over the years. But while I heard the pacing and rattling from the back room, I could also hear him snoring from the other bedroom. It was also fairly obvious that the bedroom I was in was the master, yet he and his wife chose to sleep in much smaller one on the opposite end of the second floor. And the dog's reaction - you'd have to be pretty twisted to train a dog to react like that, or put something in the room that would make him react like that, and my friend definitely doesn't do mean shit to his pets. And the next day I checked around the back of the house. There was snow on the ground, and no footprints of any kind. The only way to get to that back room was through the room I was sleeping in, or climb a ladder and enter through a window. That obviously hadn't happened.

Hauntings on this base are well documented. And F.E. Warren is an Air Force missile base. The people reporting these things aren't crackpots - they maintain and guard nuclear missiles for a living.

Unseen Spiritual World

Ephesians 6:12

Demons and their possession of an unsaved soul ? Evil spirits? You bet I believe in the unseen spiritual world where the forces of good and evil battle.

Ghosts ? You bet !! And the Holy Ghost 'trumps' ALL ghosts !!! Read on!

Ananias and Sapphira - Acts 5:1-11

But there was a certain man named Ananias who, with his wife, Sapphira, sold some property. 2 He brought part of the money to the apostles, claiming it was the full amount. With his wife’s consent, he kept the rest.

I never believed in them until I saw one. Multiple times. It was the early 90s and I was living in Leesburg, Va. I woke one night and saw a woman. Head and upper body, hovering above my bed looking at me. She was dressed in late 1800s clothing. I thought at first I must be dreaming, but I was wide awake. I tried to think of a logical explanation but couldn’t. She hovered for about a minute, then disappeared. This happened two more times in the two years I lived there.

My then wife didn’t wake up any of those times, but swore another time she saw confederate soldiers marching through our place. There was a battle, Balls Bluff, that happened just up the road from us, and the road the troops took to get to and from Leesburg was our street.

I am naturally a skeptic about these things, but I now believe ghosts exist.

I've seen enough to believe but living with and having family members who are sensitive takes it too another level, as experiences are so often confirmed by others.

When I was 27, I was visited by my 21 year old brother who died from a congenital and undetected heart defect. Kept his visit to myself for a while, but shared with family about having my encounter, and one sister told an exact experience she had had, without hearing any of the details of my story. That was enough to make me believe.

But it was years later when my step-daughter passed tragically that things got really weird. Like my brother visited me, she made a visit to her mother one night in her sleep. Our daughter came to say she was sorry, woke my wife, who heard her and felt her presence and awoke when she felt a single tear drop fall on her forehead. Sure, night sweats and a troubled psyche could explain it all, but after that my wife became sensitive to the paranormal and continued to have encounters with others.

Pre-pandemic we traveled often, preferring to stay in BnB's or rent from Vrbo, most always in the most unique and older homes we could find. On a weekend trip to St. Joe to visit the Glore Museum, we spent a night at the Shakespeare Chateau. At the museum, my wife was followed throughout our visit, oftentimes feeling a finger poke her back or side.

I'm like, whatever, as she's always telling about shit like that happening. That night at the Chateau, though, changed the whatevers into the holy shits.

It began when I experienced a night terror, a visit by a white specter, arms outstretched and coming for me. My groaning and struggling woke my wife, who shook me out of the terror. Asleep, awake, I don’t know, but I saw something and felt terrified, under attack and unable to move. We managed to fall back asleep.

Later that morning, we're still in bed asleep and both of us hear a loud bang, like a heavy book falling. An anti-room off the bedroom had been a study/small library and there was still an old desk, books, etc. in there. Neither one of us wanted to get up and explore, so we just listened for movement from the upstairs apartment, to maybe explain what happened, but heard no sound whatsoever. Just an eerily quiet house. Eventually we fell back to sleep, again.

On waking, we’re sharing our versions of that night’s events, and she tells that during the night, after the hearing the bang, she slept fitfully, as she kept feeling someone next to her in bed, someone attempting to spoon with her. Well, wasn’t me. I joked that she had spent a day and a night getting poked by spirits. She didn’t think it funny.

Just one night out of many such experiences.

One of my best friends has maintained for years that she has been visited on numerous occasions by the spirit of her maternal grandmother. When she talks about it, she talks about it like she's talking about a trip to the grocery store - no big deal.

Her mom died a few years ago, and after the funeral we were at her house. While we were seated at the dining room table a photo of her mom fell off the wall. Nobody was near it, no windows were open, no breeze, and the nail it had been hanging from was intact. Could have been a coincidence, I guess. But probably not.
