Just when we were all feeling sorry for ourselves having lost to the Oakland Raiders you get a little perspective on life. Berry has been my favorite Chief since we drafted him. Something about the way his personality came off in interviews and on TV really made me want to root for him, regardless of how well he was doing. It's not that I wouldn't care if I didn't think he was a good guy, but it has hit me harder because of it. The statement he released only reinforces my feeling.

It goes without saying I want him to get healthy first. For his sake I would love to see him play again at some point in his life, whether its for us or if he is even good wouldn't really matter. Would just like to not see this end his career, but obviously there are bigger things its threatening right now, so godspeed Eric.

This one really hits me close to home. God bless Eric Berry and I pray he is healed. This makes football all but irrelevant. I hate cancer, not matter if he does have lymphoma or not. I pray he gets to live a good life and conquer this.
