Do you still use: Faxes, Checks, Pay Phone, Stamps, Stapler, Pushpins, PC, Newspapers

I took a moment yesterday to stop and think about all the items I once utilized but have faded away in the last 5-10 years that I no longer use or have a need for. The list keeps growing.

How many things do you still use or what else have you slowly transitioned from?

Faxing- I think I have sent two faxes in the last 8 years or so. Amazing that NO ONE asks for one but everyone keeps putting it on their business card. I scan and send any document and so do all my clients. The only asses that still use faxes are the GOVERNMENT because they are always 10-15 years behind.

Pay Phone- Not in close to 15 years

Stapler-maybe 5 times in the last 10 years as I love Binder Clips

Pushpins/Thumbtacks-I just use tape

Checks
- I haven't written a physical bank check since Feb 2016 while living in Toronto. In the rare cases someone needs something else, I get a money order.

PC
- My last personal PC was a Compaq somewhere around 16 years ago with that little red round button that stood out against the white tower

Stamps-I pay everything online so no checks to write and send so no need for stamps. I've probably used less than 10 stamps over the course of the last 10 years, Most for overweight packages and nearly zero pieces of mail

Newspaper-I used to work in the industry back in the early to late 80's and read the ENTIRE paper I worked at front to back each night during the shift while the press ran. Now I never buy a newspaper of any kind and only read the free local paper in my mailbox or the ones left on the metro or on the counter at a bar I'm drinking at. Probably 12-15 years since I bought a newspaper

Magazines-I used to subscribe to a few back in the late 90's while still living in NJ and bought many others at the bookstore. I probably haven't bought a magazine in over 10 years

Books-I haven't bought a hardcopy book for myself in over 15 years.

Records or CD's-At least 15 years

I should have clarified the PC. I meant DESKTOP not Laptop. I use my laptop non-stop

My bad....

Faxes: Don't send many. Still get POs Faxed to us here at work quite often.
Pay Phone: Can't remember the last time I saw one. But I do like the saying "I'd crawl through a mile of broken glass to hear her fart on a pay phone." That's devotion.
Stapler: Used daily at work, a red Swingline. Don't take it or I'll burn this bitch down.
Pushpins: Yep, I have a bulletin board in my office. Mostly cartoons and stuff.
Checks: Nope. I've done online banking for a long time now.
PC: I've been a Mac User for more than 20 years. Still use a Mac Book Pro laptop at work. I have a Mac Pro Tower and Mac slim Ipad at home.
Stamps: Rarely. Just when I send Christmas Cards.
Newspaper: Subscribe to the KC Star, Independence Examiner and Lexington News.
Magazines: Get free stuff from AARP, AAA, trade mags at work. That's about it.
Books: Don't read much. Most books I have have been gifts. I try to read them if a gift.
Records and CDs: This is a big deal with me because I make CDs (among other things) for a living. Vinyl is making a big comeback with the 20 somethings, and CDs have much better sound than MP3 or other compressed audio files, and they're making a comeback as entertainment media as well. Don't be surprised if you don't see both of these explode in the next five years.

Seldom have used Faxes in my entire lifetime (55 currently)

Pay Phone, have not used on in years and could not tell you where one may be in the area

Stapler, not very often but they are still a great tool when needed

Pushpins, definitely use these. How else do you keep the calendar on the wall (and change it each month)?

Checks, maybe write a dozen a year. Probably less.

Stamps, very seldom used. Maybe a booklet a year if that. Thank goodness for the forever stamps so I don't have to keep buying penny stamps every time they raise the price!

PC, my main machine at home and work actually. Wife only uses a laptop though.

Newspaper, I seldom read it. My parents still read the whole thing every day but they are old and retired.

Magazines, been a while although my granddaughters get Highlights magazine every month. They love it as much as I did nearly 50 years ago.

Books, Love to read actual books. Wife and I are at the library at least every two weeks to check out a few books each. Maybe I will consider going to an e-reader someday but not too interested.

Records/CD's, never been much of a music listener in the first place so this has been no great loss. Occasionally I listen to a comedy CD but that is about it.

I've got an iMac at home, not sure if that counts as being a PC under this definition. Having an always-on machine is super handy.

Haven't used a fax machine in ten years...haven't used a pay phone since I was traveling in europe. I do know where one is, which is surprising. I'd actually like to have one at my house.

I write like three checks a year and it's a pain in the ass.

I use a fax machine everyday at work.
I use a stationary phone at work with a cord attached.
I use a stapler at work
I use push pins hold my Royals Pennants up
I use checks to pay a couple things off with
I use stamps to lick acid off of
I use my PC to get my post count up over 25K on Chiefs Planet
I use a newspaper to swat ****ing spiders with (if it's wrapped around a brick even better use of a newspaper)
I use Gaming Magazine to get in the mail so it's not a bill also read up about new games
I use books to read unless I see a spider then I can smash the ****er with a book just as effective as a brick only doesn't cause as much damage to furniture
I use CD's to listen to in my car and jam out too.

Fax - no. My company still supports tons of old farts who fax shit in though. We get hundreds of faxes a day.

Pay phone - not even sure where one is located at.

Stapler - in the rare occasion I print something that is more than 2 pages (double sided), i'll sometimes remember to click the "staple" option on the printer.

Pushpins/Thumbtacks- no

Checks- Rarely, and I have to shame whoever i'm writing the check to to sign up for a paypal account.

PC- Every day.

Stamps-No.

Newspaper- I'll read it for a few seconds until I get frustrated on how much of a pain in the ass it is to hold it.

Magazines- Kindle subscription.

Books- Kindle.

Records or CDs - CD's, never. I just buy it on Amazon or iTunes. Records, sometimes, because i like to waste money on things like that every once in awhile.
