Electronics Looking to upgrade my phone - Page 3

OK, I'm at that stage where I'm considering upgrading my phone. Keep in mind, I prefer to stay one generation behind because of pricing. I currently have a LG G Flex 2 that has served me well the past year but it also needed to be sent in twice for battery issues. My previous phone was a LG G2 that I loved.

That said, I'm only seeing two phones inside my price range that would be an upgrade and not break the bank for me. I'm curious on everyones take of each phone.

ZTE Axon 7 and LG G5. specs wise there is not a lot of difference between the two. The G5 has the notably better camera and a removable battery. The Axon has great sound over speakers, a very sharp screen, and headphones and includes a 2 year premium warranty that covers practically anything that happens to it.

The ZTE Axon 7 is currently $389 and I can get the G5 for around $370.

The primary things I want from my phone is sharp screen, camera quality, battery life, and sound quality.

EDIT - The Axon will get Nougat 7.1.1 while the G5, I believe, is only getting 7.0

I've not had a smart phone for a number of years. Before I was totally Android. Plain old flip phone here now as I only call and text.

But I'm thinking I want to take selfies every time I am out, take and post pics of my dinner, and let everyone know where I am at any given time. (

) Perhaps a dick pic or two.

I'm looking at the iPhone SE. Latest OS, small form factor. Has the boxy look I like. And hey, if I bump it up against my GF's iPhone, we can share Spotify playlists. Neato.

I'm looking at the lg g5 right now. I prefer to improve my processor rather than go backwards. Anything less than the snapdragon 820 seems pointless.

Probably already bought a phone, but for others potentially in the same boat Newegg has the unlocked G5 on sale right now for $259.
