If you were buying a 4X4 Full size truck, what would you buy?

Alas, the 2005 F150 with 175K miles has a dead transmission. $1.5K to $2K for a rebuild. Truck is worth maybe $5K to 6K.

SOOOOOOOOOOO........

Looking for 4X4 full size truck primarily to be used to haul around 225lbs of dog: two Great Danes......and light farm work.

Thinking 2014 or 2015 coming off of a lease.

What is your brand preference and why?

thanks!!

PS: Anybody want a broken 2005 F150? Make ya a great deal!!

Yeah TRd off-road

The JBL audio with tech package, tonneau cover, tow package, mud flaps and weather mats, the 5" step tube running boards, bedmat and extender.

Pretty much everything but leather which I wish was an option. All the bells and whistles but I certainly paid for it.
Got suckered into some extra protection crap (7yr Toyota platinum for 1295, tire something for 500 and this "Alaska package" which I'm pretty sure is a scam for another $1500. and walked out around 42k with everything

Looks are subjective, but the Tahoe looks better and it's not close.

It sounds like you got it loaded up, I love those Toyota trucks. Last October I bought a new 2016 Tundra Platinum 4x4 and I'm very happy with it. I compared it to the GMC Sierra and for the same options the Toyota was much cheaper.

Possibly, even so I still walked away under MSRP, so basically all these were free and I got a fully loaded Tacoma for under $43

Pretty sure it'll be way cheaper maintenance wise and your resell value will be double.
Tundras are nice, I drove quite a few while shopping.

Wont be double, will only be a little bit more.

Ford, Toyota, and Chevy are all super strong resale and have been for the last 5-8 years or so, with Chevy at the bottom of those 3, and still really strong.

Truck market is super strong in general.
