Late night bullshit: NFL quiz -- what's the ruling?

Alright, I'm going to ask a question about an obscure NFL rule.

Do your best to answer. No cheating -- honor system. Don't google or look it up or whatever. There's no shame in not knowing this because apparently it's only happened twice in NCAA or NFL history.

Here's the scene:

The Missouri Direckshuns have scored a touchdown on the Wisconsin SNRs, making the score 6-0.

The Direckshuns, satisfied with their shitting-down-the-throats of the SNRs, line up for the extra point.

The kick is partially blocked by the SNRs (primarily through sheer, stupid luck).

As the deflected kick flutters in the air, a defender of the SNRs receives it on the SNRs own 5 yard line, and tries to return it the other way for points.

The Direckshuns, ever the stalwart special teamers, swarm the defender, causing him to piss his padded jorts and retreat into his own endzone, where Direckshuns surround him and tackle him.

What's the score, and what play is supposed to happen next?

I had some vague memory that a safety was a 1-point play on extra points, and made the guess that it applied to both teams. I wasn't really sure if it would result in a normal kickoff or a free kick, but extra points exist in a weird compartmentalized part of the game, so I figured that the safety wouldn't affect what happened afterwards.
