The Marlins hit Carlos Gomez the next inning. The pitch deflected off Gomez and hit the umpire too and the pitcher got tossed.

They had cleared the benches the already so the umpire needed to take control of the game.

The pitch was inside. Stanton was looking for something outside. He stepped into the pitch and turned his face into it. It's a sad situation, but the pitcher didn't do anything wrong.
