Chiefs WHAT DO YOU THINK VEACH WILL DO?

Over these next few weeks? Does he stand pat and hopes and prays that the guys HE brought in will somehow step up a level and improve the defense? Or does he get active in the trade/FA market? Around this time last year he went out and signed Erving and Ragland, and I think the situation we're in right now is much much worse. This is his first real year as a GM as unlike last year he's the one who has been behind the acquisitions in FA and the draft. He openly said he tried to get Watkins and Hitchens last year and it was HIM who put together the draft board with his trusted allies. So to me, his reputation is very much on the line here so it's gonna be very interesting to see how he reacts In these next few weeks.

I thought there was 8m in cap space left after West was cut? Also doesn't he have the option of cutting Sorensen and Harris?

And if he's savvy enough maybe he can pull another trade out of the hat? Greenbay, for example, have TEN Cb's on their roster right now!!..TEN.

Nothing. What can he do? Trade who for who? No matter what he does it won't fix the defense. Trading picks or an offensive player would send the city into Armageddon.

If he could get a decent CB then how could fans be unhappy with a trade? Giving away a third or even Conley, for example, would hardly be earth-shattering.

Sure on the third. Nobody is trading a decent CB for Chris Conley

Despite signing Watkins and Hitchens, I think veach is treating this year somewhat as a build year. I don't think he makes many more moves. Like Dorsey, I'd bet he makes a ton of moves for cheap talent he hopes will become something more. The way we got Ragland and Erving. But I doubt we make blockbuster moves.

Next season we have a terrific opportunity to start hunting for wabbits. Houston is a prime target for restructure.
