My cat doesn't take any shit from my dogs. But I don't know if he'd go out of his way like this one did. Props to the pussy.

I had a cat as a kid -- a good sized tabby, possibly with some Maine coon in him. I saw him chase more than one dog that had annoyed him in some fashion. He was a great pet. Very friendly and affectionate with the family, but not one to be messed with. I'd like to think he would've done the same if some idiot dog came at me.

My parents had cats when my sister and I were infants, and two of them were very protective of us. One of them, Louise, didn't like my grandparents at all and always perceived them as evil. When my sister was born and the grandparents visited, Louise would sit in front of the crib and hiss at them when they entered, even emitting low growls. My parents had to pick up my sister from the crib and take her into the next room in order for my grandparents to see her... that cat was NOT letting anything happen to her.
This video is probably the same case, if I had to speculate. The cat perceives or has perceived that child as one of its own, and is doing what it can to protect it. |

We had a cat that not only chased dogs, but once scared off a raccoon by simply growling at it. This cat was very friendly with people, and tolerated the other cats and dogs that we owned...but did NOT like other animals (dogs, raccoons, etc.) on our property!

Like others, we had a cat that loved humans, but didn't take shit from other animals.
One afternoon, I was working on my pick-up while our little 20 lbs. dog was sleeping on the lawn about 30' away. The neighbors doberman/mix came around the fence and tore into our sleeping dog. I barely got up and yelled when, out of no where, the cat jumped on the big dogs head and fur went to flying. The neighbors dog yelped out of the yard fast as hell. Long story short, little dog was ok. The neighbors tried suing us because big dog lost an eyeball. Judge chewed the neighbors ass and threw the case out.

I'm pretty sure one of my cats would have done that for my son, he used to protect him from everyone.
