Hey Frank, I remember your posts about Sproles being in KC right before the tag deadline when SD tagged him at the last minute.

Any chance this regime has plans to try to sign him to replace McCluster?

I don't have any info on Sproles, but yes back before he was tagged, the Chiefs were going to offer him a long-term deal and it was thought he was very open it.

I'd hope they'd try, but I think Sproles right now is on the decline.

Byrd is out of the price range, but Mitchell is really ascending. He's good in coverage, good tackler and would be a huge upgrade over Lewis.

unless the market flops i dont see how the Chiefs can lock up a guy like this.

Fat Scott quietly threw his hat in the ring on a ton of big time free agents at the start of free agency.

Haynesworth, at the time, was a top target and if Washington didn't offer him a brinks truck, we would have been in that bidding until the end.

Yeah, but Mitchell still isnt' going to get big money - neither is Schwartz.

Grimes was a stud corner coming off a big injury. Same idea, but different circumstances with him. Prior to that injury, he was going to get this kind of payday.

i thought there was a lot of teams like us out there with shitty safety play last season looking to make an upgrade (Eagles and Colts come to mind, Falcons and Saints have departures as well)
