Did the front office cost us a Super Bowl?

The Chiefs are possibly the strongest AFC team. And you could argue that the Rams are the only better team in the NFL. Biggest advantage that the Rams have? The secondary.

Did trading Peters to the Rams ruin our shot at a Lombardi this year?

and Veach did address the loss of Peters, with the trade for Fuller. You can argue about the draft, which has yet to pay dividends, but not the Peters Trade.

Replacing Peters with a slot corner is not a replacement. Fuller’s great in the slot, but he can’t fill in Peters’ shoes.

It's not. The numbers back it up. Fuller is one of the best in the league in the slot, and slightly above mediocre otherwise.

It's why we were so excited when we had both Fuller and Peters.

At the very least, the same front office you want to claim might have cost us the chance at a SB also gave us Mahomes. At worst, it's a push.

Our defense can't wrap up for shit. Would a guy who wont tackle fix that? Short answer no.

That's the big issue. Too many defensive guys are bouncing off of offensive players or just simply cannot wrap up/tackle.

Too early to tell. I mean, it's possible. I see what you're getting at.

Chiefs certainly could use Peters right now. Like him or not, he was responsible for many of the big plays and turnovers Chiefs created on D. He was a turnover machine. Those are a rarity in the NFL. When Cptn Checkdown was throwing 3-4yd passes on 3rd n 8 stalling the **** out of the offense, Peters was literally winning the Chiefs games saving his ass. Yes Peters was a poor tackler, but that's not the reason why the Chiefs D sucked last yr. And as we saw last Sun vs 49ers, the Chiefs still have major tackling issues as a unit.

What sucks is the "What could have been" dream scenario of a secondary w/ Peters, Fuller, and Berry.

I think this is where you get into the "FO killing a SB chance" talk.

A lot of people got excited when the Alex Smith trade happened due to getting Fuller in return. A secondary consisting of Peters, Fuller, and Berry(healthy) would make this D a top 15 unit (at least), and as we've seen so far, that's really all KC would need. The Chiefs probably already knew they were trading Peters, the fans didn't however. There were some rumors floating around, which I guess ended up being right, but at the time I don't think many took those rumors too seriously, and were just kind of in disbelief when Peters was traded...for nothing. I was at least..

Well...instead the Chiefs were left w/ Fuller carrying an impossible load, an injured Eric Berry that hasn't seen the field in almost 2mo, and a bunch of chicken shit.

I never liked the Marcus Peters trade, and certainly didn't rejoice when learning of the compensation the Chiefs received in return....****ing peanuts.

Even more pissed off we used that ammo to trade up and draft fat slow out of position, out of shape project Breeland Speaks, the slowest OLB in the NFL...rather than addressing the huge void left at the CB position resulting in Peter's departure. I mean that was ****ing stooooopid of Brett Veach.

My only guess is that the Chiefs didn't want Peters going to Oakland, which is where Peters was going to go once he walked in offseason. So I guess Chiefs traded him to avoid that and got what they could out of him. Still think it was the wrong decision. Hill and these guys can torch anyone in the league.

This is THE single biggest problem with the defense. Execution is abysmal.
